I do like how Sev handles Harry--He is getting much better at knowing what to say to his apprentice. Looking forward to your next update. V. Author's Response: I know EXACTLY what you mean. You can't just tell kids not touch this or don't turn that on, because they're like--LETS DO IT ANYWAY and who cares if half the school blows up! Then we get to go home! One kid in my elementary school lit the woodshop on fire by using a band saw or a grinder to strike a spark off something metal, I think it was a pipe, and it landed in some sawdust and next thing you know there's a fire. His excuse was "I wanted to see what would happen." Insane! Sometimes kids NEED to be scared to death, so you don't end up with a dead child. yes, Severus is learning how to talk to Harry a lot better. Thanks for reviewing as always.
I'm eagerly anticipating the angst. And the fluff that will naturally follow it, because you understand fluff needs to follow angst, right? *nudge, nudge, wink wink* Author's Response: Yes, that's so. Unless something else happens. But you'll see. Harry does seem like the trype and I think he would do well.
I enjoyed seeing Harry handle the kids, and he'd make a great teacher. I have a question. Does Harry attend class himself anymore, or does he only get lessons from Sev and teach first years? I'm anxious to see what happens with Voldie, and I hope that Dumbledore can come back soon. I really like this chapter and how you showed the trials and tribulations of being a teacher, and the interaction of the Slytherins. I wish Draco would get in trouble for being the instigator of it all though . What a ferret! Looking forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: It's not as easy as it might seem, believe me. Some days were good, but other days, I used to wish I had a garden hose. yes, Harry does attend class, but his periods are shortened so he can also get tutored by Severus. And since he's teaching, some of his professors allow him extra time to complete assignments too. Dumbledore will make an appearance pretty soon. Draco will get payback from someone for that, trust me.

Author's Response: So was I. I was like, I can;t do this and I want to go home! And homework . . .makes you want to run away, far away! But I enjoyed writing this one too, and Harry will do fine now that he's had his "baptism of fire" or should that be potions? LOL!
PS: I actually had to teach an art class in high school for 3 days as a Jr. to a class of Freshmen & Sophmores, because the teacher was out sick & the Sub only took role & handed out bathroom passes. She was worthless. :P Author's Response: Thanks! I hope your experience went better than Harry's. Sometimes you wonder why people sub if they're not actually going to teach anything? Or can't improvise.
Wonderful chapter. I can't believe how quickly you update. I felt lucky if I could churn out a chapter a month, much less so many in a week. (please don't burn yourself out! I like you, and your story a lot!) *hugs* Aery Author's Response: Aww, well, this wasn't just a few letters, it was more like the whole paper. My eyes nearly crossed once because a student decided to write in "micro" letters--where you almost needed a magnifying glass to read it. Don't ask me why she chose to do that. Myabe it was a dare? When my Muse is screaming in my ear, I find it hard to ignore. It's almost compulsive. If I don't write, I can't sleep, or vice versa. I love writing, it's recreational therapy and fun for me, so i don;t think I'll ever get burnt out. But thank you for worrying. :) *hugs back*
Jace is so cute :3 from your description and Vincent is so cool =) hagrid should bring him a pet to take care of lol like a special lizard from the amazon or something haha loved harry's first teaching experience! Author's Response: Yes I did, believe it or not. And I also had someone who misspelled his own NAME on a test. No I am NOT kidding. he handed the test in to me, then came back five minutes later and asked for it back because he had spelled his last name wrong. I was like "Okay . . .now I've seen it all. If you can;t spell your own name, God help you. And please don;t run for any government office." Jace is really cute, you'll be seeing more of him soon. Oh now that's a cool idea, I'll have Hagrid do that towards the end of the year . . . as a kind of good job gesture. Thanks! |
