Reviews For Broken Wings
Author's Response: I agree and that's why I wanted him to have a bit more of a role here, with Severus and later with Harry as a hawk. Thanks for reviewing!
Good writing. I like the story. It would be interesting to see Snape, the hawk, and Hagrid all together. Will Harry regain at least some of his knowledge of himself and others, or will that have to wait until he becomes human again? After all, as animagi Sirius, McGonagall, and Rita all retain their human knowledge. Author's Response: He did, and I took it and expanded upon that. Hagrid's been around a long time at the school, he would know a lot about the students just from being there, listening to them talk and watching how they behave around each other, more so than the professors, because the students tend to behave well around teachers for the most part. You will see Harry the hawk, Hagrid, and Sev together in a few chapters, as Harry's wings mend and Severus takes him outside. He will, eventually, but it's gradual, it'll come back in bits and pieces at first and then he'll recall loads of things, but he'll stay a hawk for the majority of the story even with most of his memories until something happens to make him turn human again, and I can't tell you what it is, it will ruin the ending!
Great chapter! Your story is really picking up speed. I really like the new take on Snape's relationship with Hagrid, I don't think I've ever read one like that before. Good job!! Looking forward to your next chapter. Author's Response: Good i like to explore uncharted territory, so to speak and I wanted to give Hagrid and Severus a chance to be friends, i think that they do well together, as both have known deep loss and been taunted and all. Thanks for reviewing and the next chapter's been posted already.
Poor young Sev - to have only one person care where you lived or died. sniff. Looking forward to more (and the painful execution of the little brats that invaded his space - well, not execution, but there will be pain. Author's Response: I always did too and was disappointed that we never got a good enough glimpse of Hagrid as a kid and all, he hlped, but was always in the background, know what I mean. I would have loved to see him interact more with the staff. Sev and Hagrid as mentor student works on so many levels, hagrid knows when not to push Severus, he understands what it's like to be lonely and unloved and have no family. I don't think Albus ever really understood that, not the way it matters, and how the lack of a support system can cause you to do some very stupid and desperate things. Dumbledore was, from the books perspective, the favored son, and the brilliant student, very popular, people loved and respected him, so it would be hard for him to relate to someone like Severus, who was a social outcast. I know, Sev's life has sucked up till now. But it'll get better, promise! And those brats will get what's coming to them, I just don't know yet how I'm going to make them suffer! Oh and the next part's up--lots of Sev & Harry bonding here.
V. Author's Response: Yes, he does, stupid Snape isn't and he knows better than to leave his personal stores unguarded like that! He will, oh yes he will, and the little ferret is going to regret ever kicking that perch!
I was worried about Harry, thining that he was stuck for all the time Snape was away, but i am glad to learn that it was only at the end. Fantastic story! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! Author's Response: Yes, he will not be happy with Draco at all and that is an understatement! No, even I'm not that cruel. I think if Harry were stuck upside down for two hours it might have resulted in brain damage and I could never do that to him. I do enough to the poor kid as it is. I'm very glad you like this, it's been writing me--literally! The next chapter's longer than the others and gets more into Severus's head and his past. And is more angsty and well, you'll see it when you read it.
Author's Response: it does, sometimes you get to a point and something says, okay stop it here and I usually follow that impulse. The next one's longer and posted.
This is a fantastic story so far and I think you've got Harry-the-hawk just perfect - the right combination of wild and trusting-because he has to. I like your Snape in this too, especially his antagonistic thoughts about 'Potter' while unknowingly caring for him! I can't wait for your next update. Author's Response: Yes, i think they ought to be more than just two lumps that follow Draco about like goons. And Malfoy is just that kind of person, doing things just because he feels like it or his pride or whatever is hurt. I'm glad you like my hawk harry it was hard to find the right balance for him in the beginning, and as the story goes on, he'll be getting back more of his memories as well. Yes, Sev has no clue of the irony of his actions, or his thoughts, and when he finds out . . .*smirks evilly* My next update is now posted.
Author's Response: because I'm evil and the queen of cliffies or something? Severus is doing what Dumbledore asked, looking for Harry. They will be caught, trust me!
Author's Response: So am I, I know I am evil to hurt poor Harry like this. Draco will be getting in sooo much trouble . . . But first comes a talk with Hagrid which makes Snaoe think about something important . . .Please read on and thanks for your reviews! |
