Boy...Severus really needs to get a grip on his temper. Lucky for him, Harry takes after his mum. Still loving it. On for more.

    Missyann

Author's Response: Snape? A temper? Nah...LOL Yeah, glad that Harry is so forgiving.  Thanks for reading and reviewing Missy.

Ahh...mushy-ish moment. Your Snape is written brilliantly. You manage to keep him pretty much in character, but at the same time soften him up a bit.

    Great chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks so much. It's hard to keep Sanpe in character sometimes, especially when you want to show him softening up a bit. I'm glad that you thought that I've accomplished that.

Heh. I would bet anything that Snape would follow through too - can just imagine Harry squawking as he floats down the tower stairs on his back after a nonchalant Snape! lol. Love the evil Malfoy's too. :) x

    Author's Response:

Yeah, I could just picture it too! Hee hee! Aren't we evil?  Poor Harry!

Yeah, love evil Malfoys.  Can you just picture them in their blond evilness?

Too bad that Harry and Snapers could defeat the Malfoys, but I love the tempers flaring and the akwardness between father and son. The whole "I'm never wrong, he's wrong" thing is great!

    Author's Response:

Yeah, but they got their revenge afterwards though, didn't they?  Hee hee! Sometimes it takes a flare-up of tempers to clear the air and start fresh.  Yeah, I thought that that was a typical Snape attitude.

    Thanks for reviewing!! :)

I really liked how it was Malfoy that made Sev & harry come together. Nothing like a rival to make you see how similar you are. I also liked the way Sev trained Harry. Defense really should be seen as "the army class"--it's the magical version of martial arts and you really need a disciplined strict teacher to run it. of course, it might seem hell when you're a student, but Harry will probably thank Sev later on when he fights Voldie.

I like the duelling--not the fact that they lost, i was hoping they'd kick the Malfoy's arses. Severus did overreact when they lost, but it had to be embarrassing for him as well as Harry to look like idiots, especially in front of the whole school. I've seen some sports dads act like that when their kids played soccer, they tend to forget it's not life and death, only a game.

I loved the father son chat after the fight and how Severus apologized and told Harry he used to be a Seeker too! I hope they kick the Malfoy's arses. After all, Harry was always better at Quidditch. Knock them off their brooms, guys!

    Author's Response:

It's funny that when push came to shove, Harry actually defended Snape to Malfoy.  Snape really is very talented in many areas, and willl be a great asset to Harry in the fight against Voldie. Unfortunately, Harry doesn't appreciate Severus' harsh methods, but down the road he'll realise that everything Severus did was in Harry's best interest.  It is like tough love.  When you're training, you need a strict instructor, not someone that's going to tell you to go rest when it gets a little hairy. After all, Voldie's not going to give Harry a break when he's casting the killing curse at him.  Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

Yes, Severus definitely overreacted, and it was very difficult for him to admit that.  He's a very proud man, and it's not in his nature to apologize to ANYONE, let alone a child, and let alone his own son, but he is also an intelligent man, and he realises that  if he is ever going to have a relationship with his son, he needs to meet Harry halfway.

I think that it's been many years that Sev's been on a broom, and perhaps was exaggerating a bit with his skill, but wanted to support Harry and apologise at the same time.  But Harry is definitely a very gifted player and the Malfoys' need to be taken down a peg.

Snape and Quidditch...this I have to see.

    -P.G.

Author's Response: I actually considered having Snape flying around the Quiddiitch pitch with his black robes billowing behind him, but I think although that would have been hilarious, it wouldn't have been practical.

Another great chapter! I loved the first paragraph, with Harry's sarcasm is full display. It's obvious he got his snarkiness from Dad, huh?

I was really hoping you would find someone who could be a father-figure for Neville. In fact, I was going to comment on it when I reviewed the first chapter, but then I thought you might not have and didn't say anything. But I'm so happy you did find a way to let Neville have someone...not only for this one day, but hopefully someone who can be there to offer him some guidance along the way in the future, too. If he can just get over his tendency to disappear for months at a time, Remus will be perfect and maybe he and Neville already have a little bit of a bond from third-year. I always loved how Remus stood up for Neville against Snape and gave the boy a little more self-confidence by showing him how to succeed against the boggart.

Loved the duel with the Malfoys and the rest, with Severus losing his temper (very believable, I love Severus, but I can totally see him not being a good sport about losing, and particularly not to the Malfoys...though I can't blame him for that part). And of course, my heart melted when he went to Harry in Gryffindor Tower and apologized.

Now, on to the Quidditch match!

    Author's Response:

Ooh, yes, I like Harry standing up to Snape. Yeah, they could be know as the "Snarky Snapes" LOL!

With Snape's improved formulation of the Wolfsbane potion, he should be able to stay lucid for longer periods of time.  You just made me think of Neville's Boggart in third year.  Snape dressed as his grandmother.  Oh, now I'm snickering.  Hee hee.

Hey, if Harry doesn't like something his father does, he could always blackmail him with this.

The Malfoy's are such prats, and it would definitely be an assault on his pride for Severus to lose against them.
