Reviews For A Day to Remember
This was a fantastic description: 'made his body plunge downwards, the long strands of his pale hair, which caught the sunlight, stood on end, framing his head like a glittering halo.' LOL!! I would so LOVE to see the actors, particularly Jason Isaacs acting this scene out! It would be brilliant to watch on a big screen don't ya think? x Author's Response: Aw thanks.
It's funny that you should say that, because I was picturing him in my mind with his golden hair straight up like that, while his broom lost gravity. I would just love to see it really played out on the big screen too. Love Jason Isaacs as Lucius.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you. I like a snarky Snape!! Yeah, I think that he cares deeply for Harry, but I didn't want to change his whole personality. Thank you!
I also love how things worked out for Neville and Ron. Remus is a great mentor and Ron no longer feels shadowed by his brothers. And the Malfoys got a sound butt-kicking! *cheers* Author's Response: Thank you. Sometimes Dumbledore's meddling does come in handy! Sev and Harry needed each other, but didn't know it, they just needed a little shove in the right direction.
I really thought that Remus and Neville were a good match, because Neville needs someone who is soft-spoken and patient, and Remus filts the bill, and Ron needed some one-on-one time with his dad. He's always lost in the crowd; the poor boy.
Yeah, the Malfoy's needed to be put in their place.
Author's Response: Thanks. My son plays hockey, and you wouldn't believe some of the hockey parents, and how hard they are on their kids if they don't perform according to their standards!
It took a little time, but I think that Harry and Severus got caught up in the emotions of the contest and came to somewhat of an understanding.
Author's Response: Yeah, I don't know what made me think of Neville. It just popped into my head that Neville needed someone, and I thought that Remus was a perfect match for him. Hee he. Harry and his git! Don't they make a good match too. LOL! ;)
Author's Response: Thank you. I hope that it wasn't too rushed, but I think that being thrown together in such close proximity like that made the forced interaction push them further along than they would be normally.
I like how Harry realized that Snape was a complex man but that didn't mean they couldn;t get along and love each other. The dinner was priceless! I laughed really hard. Loved the end too! Author's Response: Hee hee. Harry sure turned the tables on Draco, didn't he? Lucius would be tough father to have also. Perhaps even more cruel than Snape when he feels he's embarrassed. Lucius is all about show and snobbery. He wouldn't like being shown up or humiliated, now would he?
Yes, Snape is a complex man, and it will be a tough road for both of them to let go of old animosities, but it's doable, if they both make an effort.
I really enjoyed writing the dinner scene. That they can actually laugh and joke with each other, is a testament to how they're finally becoming more comfortable with each other Relationships take time to foster, and a lot of hard work.
Author's Response: Well it just "called" to me JM. It was a great idea! Oh, and happy birthday. I hope I lived up to the challenge. Thanks for the hugs and kisses, and right back at you.
Have a great birthday. :)
Haha! Bitter defeat serves Malfoy right for gloating and then cheating on top of everything! Yay for Dumbledore's meddling and his brilliant idea for an annual Father-Son day! Great last line and great fic! Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much. I think that that was a turning point for Harry and Severus. Severus had to swallow his pride and admit his mistake. That's not an easy feat for our beloved snarkey Potions Master! He's never wrong, after all (at least in HIS mind!) I just love the idea of the "Only Wizard that Voldemort ever Feared" making that bully Vernon quake in his shoes. Of course, having Snape do it would have been even more fun, but it could still happen...LOL!
Yeah, those Malfoys got theirs in the end, didn't they? I think that Harry and Severus appreciate DD's intereference now, and they don't mind so much now.
-P.G. Author's Response: Thank you. I had fun writing that little interaction. Snape can be a git, but Harry will soften him up. |
