Reviews For A Strange Turn of Events
Author's Response: Thank you!
I do think it is believable though that wizards might be a bit ahead of the game in this because they would probably have spells to transfer information from one book to another. I do like the story so far and am excited to see how you develop the founders. -P.G.
I'm anxious to meet Sarah, I take it she's married to one of Dumbledore's ancestors.
I would have thought it would be just as dangerous for Muggle-borns when accidental magic occurred. At least being taught (and being obedient) would be the safer option. Just a couple of things...there was no tea in in Britain in 1032, nor were there spectacles. I am sure you knew that though and you have made it so for the purposes of the story. Lesley~
Author's Response: Oh, thank you, Kim! I'm so glad that you noticed the descriptions of Hogwarts because I struggled with it a bit. I wanted to add details about how the castle had changed over time, but wasn't sure about it at first. And yeah, the poor girl, but I thought it would be believable and it was a crucial piece to Salazar Slytherin's motivations here, since I didn't want him to just be a one-dimensional prejudiced figure.
I love this story, and am excited to read more.... Author's Response: Thanks! Sarah is married to a Dumbledore in the past. But the connection is very, very distant by the future!
Sarah Trelawney-Dumbledore? What! Dumbledore is related to Trelwaney? That's a surprise! However, as Harry once was told, by Sirius I think, all pureblood families are somehow related, so why not... Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you liked the Founders' feelings and reasons. I have read about them on other sites and it made me think about why they might feel as they did and what was going on in the muggle world at the time...it surely was very different from the present. As for Dumble-dore and Trelawney, it's a very distant kinship by this point, but I kind of liked the idea and Sarah and her husband were supposed to be very clever and powerful as they created the spell that brought Harry and Severus through time. |
