Reviews For A Strange Turn of Events
This is a continuity problem. If you post it elsewhere, you might want to revise those chapters to take out that specification, or write a new chapter to include a conversation with Godric. Otherwise, it is a very nice quick read. Author's Response: Thank you! Yep...that bit about Harry and Severus returning home before speaking with Godric was the plot hole I referred to once on the shout box and wondered who would catch it. I originally intended to have Salazar return to Hogwarts with Harry and Sev and have Godric be there then. But I ran out of time while writing it. I meant to go back and change the earlier chapter, and have Helga and Rowena go to speak with Godric, but I was running late and in a hurry and forgot. I will go back and change it a bit before posting elsewhere.
I'm really glad that we don't have to wait to see what happens next, because you've ended on a cliffe! :) I'm really glad that these two were thrown together like this. Author's Response: >>>I bet that Snape also had a nightmare, but of "Harry's" life. That's a safe bet, lol! Thanks so much!
I'm glad that Harry feels safe with Snape. Ooh, I want more. On to the next chappie! Author's Response: Thanks, Pandora! Yeah, poor Harry, but Snape would be enough to intimidate anyone. And yeah, I would have thought that Snape's attitude towards Harry might have changed a bit once he'd seen Harry's memories and would have been forced to see that his assumptions about Harry had always been wrong...but it didn't happen in OotP either, to my great disappointment. And yes, Harry does definitely feel safe with Severus there, but being sent back a thousand, or 964, years in time and being in a strange place is pretty earth-shaking. As snide and petty as he can be, Severus would be a good person to have on your side under those extreme circumstances.
Snape is so snarkey, isn't he? I love it! You've really kept Snape and Harry in character. I think that this is ANOTHER story that would be a great sequel! :) Author's Response: Thank you again! Yeah, Harry is restrained and it isn't easy...but he may just be feeling overwhelmed by all that's happened, too. I know I would be. I'm happy you think they're both in-character! I don't know about a sequel, but I would like to maybe re-write this some day because it could have easily been a much longer story. But if I ever do, it won't be anytime soon cause I've enough else going on right now, what with my other stories.
I love this story, and am excited to read more.... Author's Response: Thanks! Sarah is married to a Dumbledore in the past. But the connection is very, very distant by the future!
Ooh, I can't wait to see what adventure await Snape and Harry in the founders' time-line. Author's Response: Thank you, Pandora!
Sarah Trelawney-Dumbledore? What! Dumbledore is related to Trelwaney? That's a surprise! However, as Harry once was told, by Sirius I think, all pureblood families are somehow related, so why not... Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you liked the Founders' feelings and reasons. I have read about them on other sites and it made me think about why they might feel as they did and what was going on in the muggle world at the time...it surely was very different from the present. As for Dumble-dore and Trelawney, it's a very distant kinship by this point, but I kind of liked the idea and Sarah and her husband were supposed to be very clever and powerful as they created the spell that brought Harry and Severus through time.
Thank you for the story Author's Response: Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed it.
Well, but this is your AU, so I won't complain... nice chapter, a bit short, though. Author's Response: Thank you. Yes, I know about Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration, but this is an AU and I simply decided to ignore it. |
