Shaking someone can cause brain damage because small blood vessels inside the head are damaged and leak blood, putting pressure on the brain. Shaken baby syndrome is a dangerous medical condition, and children are not immune. Shaking someone can also fracture their neck.

I'm still enjoying the story, but wow does this website need to mention a word count so we know whether to start reading a 6 minute, 6 hour, 6 day or 6 week fic. One tiny bit of constructive feedback: The last time the family was home, Severus said their punishment was done and they didn't have to share a room anymore. In this chapter you repeated the same thing. I think you forgot you'd already released them. Still, as many stories as you write, I'm surprised that there aren't more of these teeny tiny editing problems.
