I'm feeling really sorry for Neville and the "hell" his life is becoming because of his Uncle Algie and Grandmother. It seems as if Harry's nemeses will be Ron and Neville; I don't care about Ron but I like Neville.
Author's Response: I've always felt that Neville and his story were largely ignored until the last book and then suddenly he's a leader and go-to guy (how did he become that?) He was most on the periphery and then shoved to the front. I know the JKR had so many wonderful characters that she couldn't backstory or focus much on all of them, but Neaville came out of nowhere and we never really saw where he pulled all that courage and cunning from.
I am curious about Edwin. Will a dragon eat him? *grin* Mila
Author's Response: MAYBE!! You never know what Severus might arrange.
I think, even with as much trouble as he is likely to cause, I must feel sorry for poor Neville. He Still has a rotten hand to deal with and he is setting himself up to "not" be a friend of "the-boy-who-lived" and especially not Harry.
V.
Author's Response: Yes, Neville is making the assumption that Harry, since he appears happy now, has always been happy. WIth all the rotten things he's dealing with, he needs someone to hate.
good story, but why does Neville have to be sooo hateful. It is bad enough Ron is nasty, but him too.... why but why
Author's Response: Because in canon, I never understood how Neville grew up without any resentment regarding his treatment (or Harry, for that matter).
