Okay, I'm finally getting back to leaving a more thorough review, lol!

I love this idea. So many stories begin at the end of 5th year or 6th year...which almost seems like a natural place to start a better relationship with Severus and Harry cause of Occlumency and Sirius' death...but it is always interesting to see a story begin at another point. I'm glad that Remus and Sirius will be a part of it all ,too.

Liked the beginning. I thought you captured Harry's tough vulnerability very well. He's frightened, but courageous enough to break away and risk having a new life...though some of that may just be desperation, too.

Aunt Marge...what a horrible woman. I never could stand her in canon and I'm glad she got what she deserved. Though her role is small, she's one of the most thoroughly disagreeable characters in the series. Hmm, would be fun to see an Aunt Marge/Umbridge showdown, lol.

I liked how Severus was perceptive enough to see the truth about Harry, that he was abused, and was willing to help him.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

You didn't have to write another review Kristeh, but I am so pleased that you did, because I always enjoy discussing the story with you.

I'm glad that you like a younger Harry.  I specifically wrote him in third year, because the story revolves quite a bit around Sirius as well, and I wanted to play around with Canon a bit. It's sort of a "what if" kind of story.  I'm sure it's been done before, but I still wanted to try my hand at it.  I thought that it would be fun to shake things up a bit.  I think it could be fun to have Sirius and Severus thrown together against their wills, in a situation where they have to interact with each other daily.  Thus the name of the story, "Sparks Will Fly".  Unfortunately, poor Harry will be caught in the middle, even though the whole point of them being thrown together in the first place, is so that Harry doesn't have to choose between the two of them.

I really like the idea of having Sirius playing a major part in Harry's life, and of course I'm in love with the whole "Snape is Harry's father" theme, and I saw a bit of how it could be when at the end of Tabitha's story "Crucio", she had them living together. While in her story, Sirius was Harry's main caregiver, and Snape didn't really have emotional ties to Harry, I still thought at the end of the story, how much I would love to see them having to all live in the same house, but with a twist, They BOTH care about Harry and want what's best for him, even though it will take Snape awhile to realise that.  When he does though, he will try to hold on jealously to Harry, but so will Sirius. Anyway, I'm rambling here, but it was Tabitha's story that made me want to do this one.  Oh and the way that Jade and Tabitha both write Sirius, just made me want to explore him as a character, even though I was never really interested before. Oh, and we definitely need sweet Remus as a referee!!!

Oh yes poor Harry.  I didn't want to portray him as broken, just a little vulnerable, while still keeping the strength that makes him such a remarkable boy.  I want Harry to be strong, brave and proud in this, but also still a child who needs someone to care for them and craves the affections of an adult that finally can really provide him with stability, proper care, and affection. That is really why I wanted Sirius in this. Snape and Sirius will balance each other out, and provide Harry with everything that he's been denied for so long.

Yeah Marge is a cow!! She'll get hers though. (Hee hee--no hints yet!!)

OMG Umbridge and Marge!! Now that would be too funny.  But the pink cow doesn't come along for another two years, so maybe in another story!!

Severus can spot an abuse child a mile away, because he himself was one. I wanted also to keep Snape in character, while see him struggling to maintain that hard facade, even though inside he's feeling anything but indifferent at seeing an abused Harry. Seeing Harry look so fragile and vulnerable, is really playing havoc with his pre-conception of him.  It is hard to see Harry as an arrogant spoilt child who looks so much like his arch-nemesis, when that child looks at you with those haunting green eyes, so much like Lily's, and one of those green eyes in swollen shut and bruised, and that same child is painfully thin and has such a hint of sadness about him.

Oh my, this is turning into a novel!!!

Thanks again for reviewing Kristeh.  Tabitha has next chapter, and I will post it as soon as she has time to look at it.

Hey, Pandora! I'm getting ready to head out for some 4rth of July activities so I don't have time to leave a long review right now (I will later, okay?), but I did want to let you know that I'd read this and it's fantastic! I love it, and I'm so excited for the next chapter, too!

And btw, I updated SC again...hope you don't mind my mentioning that, but it's still not showing up on the home page. Maybe Jan can help.

Gotta run, but I'm so thrilled about this new story...but don't forget UF, please, cause I love that one too!

    Author's Response:

Oh thanks, and Happy 4th of July, is that what you call it, or Independance Day? Anyway, whatever it's called, have a great day!!! I always wish I was American on this day!

The next chapter won't be long in coming, and my UF is almost finished too.

Another chappie of SC.  You have just made my day girl!  Off I gt to read!!  You have to ask if I mind. I'd be upset if I missed the update!!!

great beginning, can't wait to read the next chapter. Finally someone taking care of Harry

Author's Response: Thank you so much.  Snape may not be nice, but his own experiences with child abuse have left him with a low tolerance for it, no matter who the child is.

    Aww poor Harry!

Author's Response: Yeah, the poor kid never seems to get a break, but hopefully his luck will change soon.  Thanks for reviewing.

Awesome. Great start!!! I liked the amount and sort of injuries Harry sustained - they seemed very realistic without being too usual of what everyone else does. Good job!

Author's Response: Thank you Jan.  Well, I didn't want to go over the top, but I did want to show that the big tub of lard went ballistic on the poor boy.  I always thought that in Canon, altough they didn't show it, that Uncle Vernon's threat to knock the stuffing out of Harry was based on past experience.

Very good Pandora...lovely start. Looking forward to seeing how this story plays out with Sirius coming into the picture. Hope to see an update soon.

Author's Response: Oh thank you. I'm really anxious to try my hand at writing a story with Sirius in it.  I think that it's going to be fun.  I'll try to update soon.

It's okay, Harry, Marge is a total prude! Great opening chapter. :) I can't wait to see how Snape is going to deal with our poor Golden Boy plus two Marauders.

Author's Response: Yeah Marge deserved to be blown up! Thanks.  Yeah, our poor snarky potions master is going to have his hands full.  Hee hee.  Trust me. The name of the story is not just in the figurative sense. Sparks will definitely fly for real!
