Excellent! I loved that snake in the 2nd? chapter, when they went to Snape's chambers anyway. I loved the way Severus thought of Lily in that chapter, and I can't wait to hear more about the way Harry's appearance has changed. I also liked the way Harry thought about adults, and the way he said so casually that Severus fed him and didn't beat him... It gaveus a great insight into his mindset and I loved that. The description of Hermione and Ron fighting was great, and on the whole you are a very talented writer! Brilliant so far, please update soon!

    Author's Response:

Oh, thank you so much. Severus won't admit it, but he truly loves Lily still, and has never really gotten over her.

The appearance change is a slow process, he really hasn't changed that drastically--yet! Harry is very leery of adults, and any little bit of kindness is met with both surprise and suspicion.

I love when Ron and Hermione fight!  Thank you for your kind words. Ill try to update soon.

Oh, by the way, I noticed that when I was reading Ivy's review that you are also a vegetarian, like me!  Nice to know I'm not the only veggie on here!

Hey, Pandora! Great chapter! Severus is quite strict about schoolwork, but that's a good thing. Harry is intelligent and he needs to make the most of that so he can have his best chance of success, both against Voldemort and later, just in life in general. It's actually a bit...parental, but Harry doesn't understand that, of course.

It's wonderful to see Ron and Hermione again, and I loved their reactions when they figured out that the Dursleys abused Harry. They're wonderful friends and Harry is lucky to have them.

It's sad to me when Harry was eavesdropping at the end and overhears the adults talking about Sirius, because I can hardly bear for everyone to think that Sirius is an enemy when we know how much he loves Harry.

Sirius is not perfect; he certainly was not a perfect teenager. But he is a good person, a devoted friend and godfather, and it took a great deal of strength for him, as a kid still, to recognize that his own family was wrong and to turn his back on that. He certainly never deserved anything like the way he suffered in canon.

I'm so looking forward to the next chapter! Fabulous job!

    Author's Response:

Well, Harry might not realise it, but Snape is not being insistant on Harry putting an effort into his schoolwork, to be cruel, as he would have done in the past. Severus is a very intelligent man, and though few give him credit for it, he views education much the same way as Hermione does, and when he was a student himself, his grades were impeccable and he took his schoolwork very seriously. He doesn't understand why anyone wouldn't.  Hee hee. Now Kristeh, Snape would give you the most gruesome detentions if he heard you say that he was being "parental" towards Harry Potter! LOL

Hermione and Ron care very much about Harry, and since Ron found out about the Dursleys starving Harry the year before, and putting bars on his windows, he has suspected that there were some things that Harry wasn't telling him, but he was young, and the adults didn't take his concerns seriously. Hermione of course is brilliant and it didn't take much for her to put the pieces of the puzzle together and figure it all out.

I know that it's really hard at this point to see Sirius thought of as a killer and a fugitive, but don't forget "every dog gets his day"! Couldn't resist!

You made some very good points there Kristeh.  It took a lot of courage for Sirius to stand up to his family and turn his back on Voldemort.  He was a strong man, and unfortunately, few ever gave him credit for that.

Thanks Kristeh, and your chapter of Slave Child was fantastic and I really can't wait for the next one!
