Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
this story is quite unique and I've grown to like it after having some initial problems adapting to the idea of Harry suffering from such a muggle disease as cancer. But then, why shouldn't wizards be able to catch those in extraordinary circumstances. And Harrys' surely count as that. I like seeing Snape taking care of him and growing to like him. And I really hope that Harry'll get his magic back, it's really disconcerting to think about him without the ability to defend himself... Thanks for writing this! ai Author's Response: Thanks! I'm happy to hear you've grown to like my story. I admit the idea is a bit radical, but then normal is boring. ;) Actually, I got the idea from reading several Harry has cancer fics and were disappointed and annoyed with them mostly because either the author didn't do their research or a simple potion was the cure. I wanted a more "realistic" approach. It also gave me an excuse to practice my writing technique on getting into a character's head psychologically. I've been toying with the idea for a novel that I've started that has some scenes that are rather difficult to write emotionally, and so this story has been my practice grounds so to speak. As for Harry's magic, he'll get it back eventually. It's touch and go at the moment, but he has Severus to protect him.

Hey there! So I hope that this is okay, but we featured Alea Iacta Est this week in our HP fan fic review blog. My partner in crime and I both adore this story, even though it makes us want to cry and hug Harry (in a good way.) Your Snape is incredible. He is certainly a person that I would want to be around. I like that he is richly layered, and full of surprises! Anyhow, drop by the site if you have some time, and let me know what you think of the review! And thank you for sharing this wonderful story!
Author's Response: Stay tuned for the emotional breakdown. Harry's had little breakdowns so far but by no means has he had the one the story is obviously leading up to... Hopefully, I'll get there sooner rather than later though quite a few things need to happen before I can get there. Fasten your seatbelt because it will be a wild ride and then you may be thrown off a cliff. ;)
Sweet chapter! Author's Response: You'll see how the Potions lesson goes in the next chapter. The interview with the psychiatrist will be in the following chapter. i wante to include the interview in Chapter 45, but the tone of the chapter didn't really allow for it, and the interview needs to be the center of a chapter because not only is it important for Harry's emotional path, but it will also set something I've been planning for a while up... Thanks!
