Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: Thanks! I hope you like the rest of the story.
Author's Response: I'm happy to hear you loved Flurry. I would say I hope you enjoy the rest, but I see you already have. ;)
VERY GOOD!!! Besides the ending, I love how Severus flaunted with wealth by slipping the guard a ten. XD That was funny. And I love how disgusted he was with all the kids and the pictures! XD And the old lady griping at him was hilarious too. XD Okay, and imagining Severus with a baby Harry was ADORABLE!! I must say, I've never read a fic where Severus merely wanted a child and did not necessarily want Lily as well, but this was very interesting and I LOVE it! Update when you can!!! Author's Response: *smiles slyly* I always knew the Sorting Hat would stick me in Slytherin. The chapter had to end somewhere. ;) I think Severus loved Lily, but it was unrequited on Lily's side. He understood she loved James, and learned to be content with being her best friend. He never wanted to come between James and her. I wanted to show a different side to James as well. Often he get regarded as a bully, a person Harry comes to somewhat resent, and I didn't want that to happen. I also wanted to figure out a situation where Harry was a wanted child because he spent so much of his childhood as the unwanted nephew that no one cared about, and I just couldn't make him the result of a one-night stand or an affair. I'm happy to hear you liked the "lighter" moments of the chapter. It brought some emotional balance to the chapter and was a chance to bring out Sev's snarky side. He hasn't gone completely soft after all. Thanks!
Poor Severus and poor Harry, having their summer 'ruined'... Author's Response: Thanks! Perhaps because they are? ;)
Ahem, sorry about that. Anywho, so Sev blew is cover at the Ministry, eh? Hmm...and now Harry has to stay with Snape for the rest of the summer and he's lost so magic, eh? Hmm...sounds like a great plot to me! (with kittens!) This was really good! I liked the part where Snape went into his quarters and blew off Dobby, and didn't remember his name. That was great! XD And Sev's being a nice bastard...does that make sense? He wants to play mind games with Harry, but then helps the boy when he's so distressed...Wait a minute, does that mean he HAS a heart?! Holy crap! lol This was very good, and I can't wait until I have time to read more! Have a chocolate frog for doing so well! ^-^ Author's Response: Ivy, I was so surprised to wake up and see that you reviewed! I was like yay! Welcome to the wonderful joys of Flurry (the cat), which you'll learn about later. She has a story behind her, and I think you'll like it. I promise not to tell Sev that you said that was the cutest thing you've heard all week. lol. ;) I don't think he'd appreciate it. Harry hasn't much lost his magic, but it's just not working at the moment... Sev totally has a heart and you'll see more of it as you read. There's quite a few twists waiting for you, and I should be writing the next one right now but there's a program about Tolkien and LOTR on History right now. I am totally in geek heaven for the hour. lol. Thanks and I can't wait to see what you think as you read more.
Poor professor, though I can't help being glad he is free from his grim duty of spying. His unusuall softness is a bit confusing, but the story looks promissing. Run off to read the rest.
I like the start, it holds the interest. Technique: "Potter's abhorrent decision to trapeze across Britain" I think you mean 'traipse' not 'trapeze'. "running for their mummy's" It's not a possessive, and should be 'mummies' It's just me: I hate the nickname 'Mione' Author's Response: Thanks again. And while I'm not too thrilled with Mione either, I can't see them after all these years not having a nickname for her. Don't worry, I probably won't use it too much. |
