Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: I think they both might've won in different ways though I'm sure Severus thinks he won.
Author's Response: Severus may be going soft on Harry, but he's still Severus, bat of the Hogwarts dungeons to everyone else. Harry is totally going to need it, and yes, you'll see Ron and Hermione next chapter. Thanks!
But Snape in glasses? Way cute! And him being there for Harry? Even better! And Harry feeling cared for, ABOUT TIME! lol Good good good good good! ^-^ I wish I could read on, but there is an evil calling to me called sleep. I'll read more tomorrow. I'm afraid I can't give you anymore points for a while though. Last chapter really depleted my stock! So, you get a friendly slap on the back and a smoothie! ^-^ Author's Response: Yay, for Ivy loving that Snape didn't really want to teach DADA. I don't think Sev wants to deal with students who have an opportunity to hex each other. He likes order, not chaos which can easily happen in a DADA class. I got insider info to your story. Woohoo! I have no idea where I came up with the idea for Sev having glasses, but I think it came up with the idea that I wanted him to have some lingering ailments/problems from being a spy for so long. It would be too unrealistic if there wasn't something that was caused by repeated exposure to the Cruciatus curse, not to mention the stress. Sleep is evil. j/k. ;) I love sleep and I'm off to dreamland soon, too. I got like 700 more words added to the chapter I'm writing, but still about a thousand to go. I'm not sure where it'll end yet. *sighs* I'm sure you'll probably review before I get up in the morning/afternoon, and if you keep up this pace you could get to chapter 15 tomorrow which is my favorite chapter so far.
Lol it was really odd I was scratching my shoulder and back of my neck when harry was saying he was itchy XD I just got back from a hot place, being in hot climates gets me weird itch that don't even last a day XP What a coincidence but I don't think I've got allergies.... Sooo I wonder who'll take Defense, and Sev with glasses I can completely imagine it! Off to R&R other chapters! Yay! Author's Response: I'm glad you liked Snape with glasses. I'm not surprised you're itchy after visiting a hot climate. There's like way more stuff that grows in hotter climates compared to more temperate ones. I never had allergies, yet sometimes I get a little stuffy since we moved to a hot climate.
And Snape wearing glasses! Aww, I have never read that in a fic anywhere before. At least I don't remember doing so. So that is really awesome! I absolutely love that! I'm assuming they're reading glasses or the like. That is cool. Kudos to you for thinking outside of the box, so to speak. I like these new, random, "human" characteristical tidbits you have been showing Harry, and we the readers, about Severus. That is really neat. :-) Author's Response: Maybe you can be the one to go knock some sense into Dumbledore. He sure needs it. You assumed right when you suggested Sev's glasses are reading glasses and thank you for saying I think outside the box. I try not to be typical or like the ten thousand other stories you've read.
Author's Response: Thank you. We didn't get to learn much about Snape in canon, so it's fun explore his character. I've twisted his background which you'll start to know about next chapter and I think you guys will enjoy it. I hope to finish writing it tonight, so it should definitely be up before the end of the weekend.
Author's Response: Thank you. I did a ton of research before starting to write this and my best friend is in her last year of nursing school, so I'm trying to make it as realistic as possible with having a little leeway because of the muggle/wizard overlap. I'm glad you like my depiction of Dumbledore. He's not perfect, and when you take out the bias of only seeing him through Harry's point of view, he changes. While he means well, he doesn't always do what's best for people because he's so focused on the war.
Author's Response: Thanks. I'm trying to throw you guys a bunch of twists and turns. I hate stereotypical plots that you can guess after the first chapter. As for Sev wearing glasses, after all those years as a Death Eater spy, it would be unrealistic if he walked away as fine as the day he was marked.
Author's Response: I think the side effects will scare him more, too because he doesn't really fully get it yet. I don't think he's grasped just how serious his illness is yet because for the most part he doesn't feel too sick, just tired with a splash of wonky magic. |
