Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Great chapter as always!
Author's Response: Yes, I know in canon that Severus' mother is Eileen Prince. I took the liberty of changing canon a bit for my story.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm happy to hear you liked Aurora. She's a fun character.
I really liked the line about how he had saved Harry because he couldn't let Lily's last gift to world die. Poor Harry. Chemo is horrible; it sure seems like there should be a better way. I imagine Harry is shell-shocked, and terrified right now, the poor thing. Author's Response: Yay, I'm happy to hear you like Aurora. I messed with the parallel between Harry and Severus in canon already so I thought why not go all the way. ;) Plus, she'll bring some light into the story at times. I'm always excited when reviewers point out a line or moment that they particularly liked because I really like to know if you liked the same parts I do, so thanks! Yes, chemo is horrible. Unfortunately there's no magic potion that'll make everything alright. You're right about Harry being shell-shocked and terrified. He'll go through quite a bit emotionally in the next few chapters. Thanks!
But poor Harry. First he gets all excited and then it all crashes and burns for him after he's sent to his room. Poor kid! I would totally freak out too with all those treatments, and I'm not afraid of needles! Poor thing! I'd be sad if my hair fell out...even though I threatened to shave it all off once...don't ask why...But poor Harry! The last part I would sweet and ackward. Sev was being all like, "it's okay Harry, I'll be here for you through the bad. Here, let me give you a half-hug" and Harry was all like, "thanks professor, I needed that." But then Sev was like, "Yeah, but you might need to go in a corner with this cup if you wanna be a daddy some day." And I could totally see Harry's face go like, "WTF?!?!" Sorry about that. It's already been a long day for me and it's just gunna keep on getting longer. *groans* Wednesdays are so LONG!! But this really hit the spot in a weird kinda way. So thanks! I'll try to read more later, but it might be way later tonight. *rolls eyes* Some people just schedule me so full without thought of what I want to do later on. How rude of them! lol You can have another hug if you want for this chapter! :D Author's Response: Ivy, I'm happy you like Sev's hippy parents. I messed up the parallel that's in canon between Harry and Sev's storylines, so I decided to play a bit. ;) We'll see Sev's sister eventually. She won't play a big part at all, but I have an idea or two that include her in them. I've threatened to shave my hair off, too, multiple times. I have super, super thick, curly hair and right now it's down to my waist. People love my hair and I hate it. lol. Pretty much humidity plus my hair equals tons of frizz. I always tell people they can have a patch of my hair from somewhere in the middle of my head and I'd bet you'd never know it was missing. lol. It's a big deal for teenagers to lose their hair. Even though Harry is a boy, he's still a self-conscious teenager. Harry is totally terrified and completely overwhelmed. He's taking on so much right now, and it's only a matter of time before he cracks. Things will start to get really angsty from here, Ivy. There's a few lighter chapters and moments, but you'll start to really feel for Harry, so keep those Kleenex handy. Yay, another hug! Thanks! I could use it going into working on the next chapter. I hate super busy days so I totally feel for you.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you like her. ;)
Poor Harry! >_< I learned some new things from the explanation Severus gave him, man it sounds a hundred times worse that I thought at first... Off to R&R next chapter.... Author's Response: I'm guessing you're from San Francisco? It's going to be really tough for Harry, but he'll get through it.
I like your handling of Harry and the Chemo explanation. It was overwhelming bits of information. But he is fortunate that Snape is there to want to help him. Severus will take good care of him, I'm sure. Nice work! Author's Response: Thanks. I decided to change up Sev's background well one reason you'll see later, but I already messed up the parallel storyline Rowling had going with Harry and Sev, so I thought why not? Someone besides the Weasleys needed parents that are alive and not evil. Harry is fortunate that Severus is there to help him because the chemo isn't going to be nice to Harry. |
