Thank you for your understanding and caring charactizations of a cancer patient getting ready for treatment.......I went through a lot of what Harry is three years ago with breat cancer, even a Hickman port.......it's kind of like I'm reliving he fear, but from the oher side. Three years cancer free! I await your next chapter holding my breath.

Author's Response: Thanks again. I'm glad to hear it's connecting with you emotionally because good fiction does. =)

Continuing to progress well. Looks like we'll learn a LOT about leukemia, eh?

his breakdown? either his friends or the needles, although Dumbledore might end up causing it somehow as well...

Author's Response: Yeah, you'll learn a lot about chemo just like Harry is.

The care and hard work you are putting into this story is obvious throughout this chapter. I have no idea of what will cause Harry's eventual breakdown because there are so many things that could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. So I will just continue to wait and read. Keep up the good work and don't worry about how soon you get the next chapter posted. Fiction of this high quality is worth waiting for.

    Bravo!

Author's Response: Thanks! *smiles* Still, I plan to get the next chapter up within a few days.

Yay! I was just thinking about this story at work this afternoon. Wishing you'd update, but thinking it'd be too soon. So surprise for me! :D

I really liked this chapter. Severus was so patient with Harry and I loved that. It was both somewhat cute and yet incredibly sad when he was trying on clothes. He's small already, but when he saw himself in the mirror, that was so heartbreaking.

Severus picking out hats and vitamins and such for Harry's future use was also incredibly sad. It instills this bit of dread inside you... you know what's coming, yet it is still depressing.

You seem to really know what you are talking about in this regard and it shows. I'm still enjoying this story so very much! Looking forward to the next chapter!!

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I'm happy to hear it read somewhat cute and sad at the same time because that's what I was going for. Dread is good, and you should be feeling it.

Neat chapter, it brings the human in Snape out. As for your review about Poppy, she is a professional and a healer that has seen war so finding a diagnosis for a dieing student shouldn't be that much of a shock, I'm sure others have died during her career--quidditch for example is a violent game--let alone during the last war; it was just too obvious a plot device. That said I would bet the snow cone that Hermione is the one to trigger Harry's breakdown--she is just that insensitive and bullheaded.

Author's Response: You'd bet your snow cone? We'll just have to wait and see. And surprise, Snape is human, should we alert the presses?

I just love Snape and Harry shopping scenes. It's lucky you've made Snape so kind (even while retaining just enough of his bite to stay believable)as Harry is clearly in no state to put up much of a fight at present. It's good there is someone to guide him along without taking advantage.

Author's Response: I love them, too. Yes, Harry's not in a state to fight right now and Sev knows that. As nasty as he can be, I can't picture Severus taking advantage of a sick child. He has too much decorum for that.

Hmm....we've been having terrible humidity and heat, a snow cone sounds delicious!

I'm so glad that Snape bought Harry new clothes. The boy really needed them. I love that Snape is being so caring, while not losing his snark. Great job on doing that; not as easy as it looks.

Love this story, and I can't wait to read the next chapter. Poor Harry, I have a feeling that he's going to be going through hell.

Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad Harry got new clothes, too. I'm glad that Snape isn't losing his snark for you, and of course a snow cone for you.

Love the story so far! Your characterizations are just so well paced, especially for Severus. I can't wait for the next chapter!

And I'll take one of those snow cones on behalf of the northern hemisphere too... these 95 degree days aren't agreeing with me too well!

    Madeline

    Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm happy to hear my pacing is good.

    Sends over a snowcone.

Great chapter. I think Harry's breakdown will be at the point he realizes he's going to lose his hair. It seems like such a small thing, but it has an incredible impact on your life. For me, that's when I first absorbed that I was in a fight for my life.

    Cherry/blueberry snowcone for me please.

    Author's Response:

We'll see if you're correct soon, but it's a good guess.

    Cherry/blueberry snowcone coming right up.
