Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Personally, if I were Harry, I'd probably by relieved to the first dose done while I was unconscious...heck I might like to stay unconscious throughout it all! But I can also see that having some control over the situation, even just a tiny bit, is very important to Harry and it might be difficult for him that Severus made the decision without him. So I don't know how he'll feel about it. Great chapter! Author's Response: Yes, we're getting to the nitty-gritty of the treatments. It won't be easy for Harry, but luckily he has Sev there to help him. I'd be relieved, too. Control is a sensitive subject with Harry. His life has pretty much been planned out by others and so it's hard for him to give up what small control he possesses. It'll take some time for him to get used to a person actually making decisions for him that has his best interest in mind. Thanks!
That whole thing just made me hurt! >_< Oh, my chest started to feel really funny, like in a bad way. That whole thing does not. sound. pleasant! Oh it made me squirm! But that just means it was written very well, so good job to you! Poppy's gunna catch some major Snape rage soon, isn't she? And she's waiting for it. Poor lady, but she should have kept her big mouth shut! And Snape was just wonderful in this! He was right there when Harry needed him and he's even ran his hand through the boy's hair. AWW! Well, I'm off to the next chappie! Have some apple bread! (made it fresh ^-^) Author's Response: *Hands the whole box of Kleenex over to Ivy* You'll need it by the time you get to reviewing the chapter you're now reading. Poppy totally should've kept her mouth shut, but people make mistakes and I think she'll be paying for this one for a while. I agree that what Harry went through totally doesn't sound pleasant, but it means less needle pricks, and it was somewhat necessary since chemo can really damage your veins. Yay, I get apple bread! I can't even get my dad to bake me brownies. :)
Author's Response: Thanks! Perhaps it's because it's about more than just the sickness, but the characters and their journey along the way?
This was a wonderful chapter. I really liked the idea of different blankets in the Hospital Wing. It make a lot of sense, the medical alert bracelet sounded awesome too. I wish mine was that cool! I hope Severus can help Harry over his breakdown and that he is able to recover quickly. Wonderful chapter! I can't wait for the next update! I was wondering what the title means. Is it latin? Author's Response: I think I just finished the framework for the next chapter, and I don't think we'll get to that discussion. Something else kinda took over the whole chapter... Thanks! Don't they have cooler looking medical alert bracelets than the standard ones? I think I remember hearing a celeb mentioning it once a few years ago on one of the late night talk shows. I'm glad to hear you liked both ideas. As for the breakdown, whew is all I'm going to say. The title is Latin, so five points to you. =) It means the die is cast and is pronounced like a-leee-a yak-ta est with all the a's being short. It basically infers a point of no return. I hope to get the next chapter up sometime tomorrow. We'll see how far I get on fixing it up tonight.
Author's Response: It was a scary experience for him. I'm not sure what Harry's reaction is going to be with Sev over the intrathecal chemo. I think it'll depend on how my brain is working once I get to writing that part. It's a very tough call, and I'm torn like Sev. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks! I noticed it was added to main P&S C2, and I got some reviews from people I haven't seen review before. :) I'm happy to hear you liked the chapter. We'll see how soon Severus can get Harry calmed down, but it's looking like it won't be easy for him. As for his glasses, he was asleep so of course he had them off, but in his panic he lost some of his reasoning ability.
Author's Response: Thanks! He's a kid, so he gets extra consideration. Kinda unfair to everyone else, isn't it? We'll see how Harry responds, I don't know which way it'll fall when I get to writing it.
I want to just cry when Harry is so scared, and in so much pain. Once again, you did a great job with handling this subject matter. Author's Response: Aww Pandra, don't cry. *hugs* Harry has Sev to help him out. We'll know if Harry understands in the next chapter or not. Thanks again!
I do admire you for all the research that you must be putting into this. It adds so much more substance to the story when it seems like the author really knows what they're talking about, instead of being vague or skipping technical things or whatever. So, awesome. ;-) I can't wait to see Harry's reaction to everything in the next chapter. I hope he doesn't feel too betrayed... ::gulp:: And we will so beat FF.net. Why? Cause we are cooler. And that is just the way it is. ;-) Well done! Author's Response: Thanks! I try to update as quickly as possible because your reviews and hits urge me to keep writing! Seriously, I'm like addicted to that little traffic graph on FF.net that separates my hits into all the different countries. Thank you for appreciating the research I've put into the story. I agree that it adds so much more substance. Harry's reactions will prove to be interesting...
Brilliant chapter Update soon Author's Response: We'll see how he feels in the next chapter, which I hope to begin working on later today. Thanks again! |
