    Poor Severus!!!!!
But I can't blame Harry at all! he was abused and spent his life with people who hate him and didn't forget to remember him that at any occasion.
But Yeah Harry is Harry, he will forgive Severus ASAP.
Did I miss Severus' birthday? Happy 50!

    Author's Response:

    Sev's birthday was Jan. 9 ;)

You're right about Harry. It'll take some time for him to come to terms with everything he just learned. It doesn't help that Severus doesn't remember, so he's somewhat disconnected emotionally from it. Thanks!

I think our Harry did fairly well, all things considered. So he threw a bit of a tantrum--I think that's ok. He's having a rough time of it and never just 1 thing! But our boy is a good kid and I have no doubt that he'll "get over it" eventually (probably sooner rather than later--it does take a LOT of energy to really remain that angry and he just doesn't have it in him at this time.)

Happy to see the updat--please don't talk about snow--we've already had 3 snow days from school--any more and my stress levels will take off the roof.

    V.

    Author's Response:

I think Harry did fairly well, too. I'm glad he decided to throw a little tantrum instead of bottling it all up. You're right that it does take a LOT of energy to remain energy, and he doesn't have it in him. He tires too easily.

You've already had 3 snow days? Wow. That's amazing to me even when I consider the very few snow days we had when I lived in IL. We were the school district that still had school even if it snowed over a foot. Thanks!

Poor Severus, poor Harry. I fully understand this emotional rollercoaster Harry is one. Half way through my chemo I'd have days were I was bouncing of the walls because my emotions were all over the place and I didn't have the upset that Harry did. He reacted just like I expected. Thank you for the update. Have missed this story.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and it seemed realistic to you. Harry is definitely on an emotional rollercoaster. Hopefully things will get better for him soon and Harry will view things a bit differently once he fully processes the new information. Thanks!

What a great chapter!!! I thought Harry reacted exactly right. He has gotta feel like a push-me-pull-me toy his whole life. This is just that icing on the cake so to speak. I love this story - can't wait to see what happens next.

Author's Response: Thanks! I think you hit the nail on the head when you said Harry has to feel like a push-me-pull-me toy. Hopefully, that'll change soon with Severus there to look out for Harry's best interests.

LOL You're asking for snow? I'd be more than glad to send you a truckload of it. More even!

Poor Harry can't seem to catch a break now can he? That would have been quite a shock to him even in the best of health. Now however... *shakes head* He probably feels as though he's been dropped by a one-two punch.

I especially like Snape calling him a brat as he realized with relief that Harry had only fallen asleep.

    Author's Response:

We never get snow down here and I'm from up north where I'm used to snow. It's surprising, but I actually miss it.

Harry can't seem to catch a break. Although, I'm sure he won't say it's a break, but finding out Severus is his father is one. Harry just needs some time and a little space to work through things on his own.

I'm happy to hear you liked Sev calling Harry a brat during the last paragraph. That paragraph was a nice bit of closure and hope going forward. Thanks!

For you, my dear Ella, I give you ALL the snow in Chicago, because Heaven knows I don't want it! There's several inches for ya! ;D

And OMG! Poor Harry! He's so confused he doesn't know what's going on does he? Poor kid! For a third time everythings been turned upside down for him. I feel bad for him. And his reaction was believeable I think. I'd freak out and raise all kinds of questions. He did have a right to act that way.

And I did feel really bad for Severus! Poor guy, but he did bring it on himself didn't he? I still think it's cute though that he doesn't want Harry to call him "sir" or that he wouldn't call him "Potter". It was nice that Flurry sat with him a while though. But he IS rather protective of his son, isn't he? And he did well with Harry at the end. And the last little paragraph made me smile.

Very good chappie Ella! I was still really excited when I saw this, but I kept quiet this time because I'm with two guys that wouldn't understand me screaming. XD Fantastic chappie!! Update when you can!!

    Author's Response:

I never got the snow. :( It must've melted along the way. We're in the 60s and low 70s this week, so we definitely can't have snow this week. We're supposed to get some storms tomorrow though. I love rain, too as long as I don't have to be out in it all day. ;)

Harry has some idea what's going on, but it's proving too much in too little of time. He certainly did have the right to freak out. It would be unbelievable if he didn't.

Sev is protective with Harry. I've always had the impression that once Severus starting caring about someone/something that he'd be very protective of it/him. He's just that type of person. I'm happy to hear you liked the last paragraph. It gave the chapter a nice closing note while giving off a feeling of hope. Thanks!

Harry's reaction wasn't entirely unexpected. I think that once he has time to process this new information he will come to realize that Severus is only human and made a mistake because of his quite reasonable fear. His goal was admirable..to protect his beloved child. If Harry wants to play the blame game he has plenty of potential culprits. You could place blame on Lily and James' shoulders for not making sure via their will that Harry would end up with Severus and not with her relatives or Voldemort for causing the issue to begin with, and let's not forget Dumbledore's duplicity as well. I suppose I can only hope that Harry will forgive Severus in time and come to accept him as the loving parent he is.

Great chapter! I can't wait for the next!

Author's Response: I think you're right. Once Harry processes the information and looks at it from an unbiased point of view, he'll be more receptive to Sev's true intentions. I think those pensieved memories and Sev taking a memory restorative draught will help as well. Thanks!

I was so enjoying reading this fic that I forgot it wasn't completed and went to click the next button only to find it wasn't there! I like to slower pace you are going at. It makes the events seem more real and gives the readers a good look into who Severus really is. I don't like Dumbledore, however. His manipulativeness is well written though; it's just his attitude I don't like. Who can really expect Harry to defeat Voldemort in his condition? It's annoying that a man so smart (supposedly) could be so stupid when it comes to the 'greater good'. Keep up the good work!

Author's Response: I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the slower pacing. I tend to be detailed oriented and so the pacing is slower because of that. I agree it does tend to make the events more real. Dumbledore is pretty manipulative. I can't decide if he's just completely daft or he really doesn't care about Harry. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out for him. Thanks!

Wow another great chapter girlie! I throughly enjoyed this chapter, but then again, I've loved all of them.

"the boy that wished upon a taped up star every night for someone to whisk him away from the Dursleys and raise him as their own." Uh oh, I knew as soon as I read that, that Harry would probably have trouble accepting Snape is his father and didn't do anything to save him when he was little. Well, I had guessed that Harry would have trouble accepting it, but as soon I read that, I just KNEW.

""Am I dying?" Harry blurted out. His hand flew to cover up his mouth. Harry hadn't meant to say that. He hadn't even been thinking it, at least not consciously. Was that the reason Severus didn't want to discuss the forms? The Professor didn't want him to know he was really dying?

"You are not dying," Severus' hold on his waist tightened. "Must I assign you lines until you believe me?" " Aww, I loved how Severus set to assure the lad that he was not going to die, he had such a "Snapeish" response...lol.

"There had to be a small chance that it wasn't as it seemed. That he wasn't some accidental child from an illicit affair, unwanted from the very beginning. Harry couldn't handle knowing he was never wanted. At least when he was growing up with the Dursleys he had the illusion his parents loved him even if they were dead. Not for the first time Harry wondered if it would've been better if he'd never been born. It seemed like his life caused trouble for everyone around him and this was the icing on the cake.

"You were wanted before you were ever born." Harry felt the bed dip and a second later one of Severus' trembling arms wrapped around his shoulders. "I... Lily and I reconciled after the pensieve memory you witnessed as I mentioned before." I love how Harry was thinking about having been unwanted and the very next thing that Severus said was to assure him that he had been wanted right from the start.

"Severus wasn't sure if that went better or worse than he expected. At the very least, Harry was showing emotion instead of bottling it up which was good. Sighing, Severus sent the wooden box back to his bedroom until Harry was ready to know more. He'd give Harry time to think and process the new information. Hopefully after the shock wore off his son would be more receptive to their newfound familial relationship.

Even though Harry had time to sulk, Severus had things to do. Harry's room wouldn't clean itself and he'd be damned if his child got an infection or picked up a virus on his watch." Ahh, I am glad that Severus is understanding and allowing Harry time to process the new information, that had to have been a shock! Also I was super glad that Snape NEVER wavered from his resolve about his child getting germs.

"After Harry's outburst, Severus was more curious than ever to know just what lines the Muggles had crossed. He was determined to get answers and file charges if necessary, but nothing could be done without Harry's cooperation." Yikies! I would NOT want to be the Dursley family when Snape has time to deal with them, even it was through a court system.

"Harry didn't say anything, but leaned sideways until he was resting against his chest. Severus wrapped his free arm around his son to hold him upright while he waited for Harry's nose to stop bleeding. " I think this proves that Harry will accept him again sooner than later, as he is still (subconsciously maybe) seeking a bit of comfort-leaning into Snape and then later feeling comfortable enough to fall asleep on the man. I so hope that Harry will trust in the man again, but then again, I can sort of a little bit understand how he feels. My father walked out of the family and is now only trying to create relationships with us....anyways...I hope that Harry will understand soon.

About that blood and then the other transfusion, I wonder if Severus will be capatible to help with that.

I wonder what the new side-effect will be, I am thinking that it might be hair loss…(I don’t review your story on ff.net as I do it here-but I am aware that you asked that question there). Side story-when my friend Courtney was going through chemo and had lost her hair, most if not all of her homebase class shaved their heads-yep even the girls-to show support….I’ve never done that, but I do donate my hair to “Locks for Love” a lot.

LOL, sure I'll scrunge up some snow for you and send it your way. It's been frigid here (Mechanicsville, VA) too and the wind chill! My cousin aunt and uncle live in Ozark, AL and from what they have said, they fully agree with you.

I hope that you update soon, I am so looking foward to it.

P.S. What happened to those letters that Hermimoine and Ron sent?

    Great job-Autumn.

    Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked the taped-up star bit. I thought it might be a bit ominous. Sev is still learning and will be learning how to be a father for quite some time so it's only natural he'll deal with things like a professor would. Even though Harry's mad, I'm sure Sev wanted to make sure Harry knew he was always wanted. I think Sev had some of those issues himself when he was younger so he knew some of what Harry may be thinking.

Severus knew going in that Harry's reaction might not be the best, so he was prepared to give Harry a little space. It may take Harry a bit to come around, but I'm sure he'll get there. He'll need Sev before long and Harry's really not in the position to put up a huge fight.

You'll have to wait and see about the new side effect, but you should remember I like to twist things up a bit. ;)

We're in the high 60s, almost 70 here, which will be nice for the upcoming Mardi Gras parades. I'm excited about those. lol. They're so much fun and best of all, it's free.

Sev will get to the letter soon. Give him some time to actually have time. ;) Thanks!

Poor Harry. He didn't exactly react positively to the information. But Snape's way to telling him seemed slightly rude and not very understanding.

I'm looking forward to see what happens next. At least soon Harry will have a break from chemo. Although I'm sure he's not looking forward to the chemo that has to be injected into his spinal column.

    Author's Response:

Sev's way of telling Harry may have come off a bit rude, but I don't think he really knew how to approach it. He's comfortable thinking of Harry in his head as his son, but to say the words out loud are a completely different thing. He was also worried and I think a tiny bit scared though he'd never admit it to how Harry would react.

A few more days and Harry will have a break from chemo. I'm thinking the pacing will pick up a bit soon if all works out well. Harry definitely isn't looking forward to the next intrathecal chemo injection. Who would? Although at least that doesn't take long and then it's done.
