First off, sorry I haven't been keeping up, but I'm trying to make up for that now.

But Harry passed potions? YAY!! That's great for him! Though I'm kinda sad he failed his history as I'm a history person. (But then his teacher's dreadful!) But Yay Harry!

I'm glad that Harry's pushing back some of his resentment and anger towards Snape. He needs Severus and I'm happy that Severus is being so understanding. And he's even letter Ron come!! 0_0 That's a big step!

Still loving the story Ella! I'm going on!!

    Author's Response:

I understand Ivy. I've been pretty bad myself lately. I have this little problem of reading things on my phone before I fall asleep and then I totally forget to review the next day. Oops.

I'm a history person, too, but even the most interesting stuff in history can be super boring with a bad teacher, but really what's failing history when he passed Potions! Harry and Sev are taking big steps in their relationship, but they have a long ways to go. Thanks!

This chapter was a delight to read. I enjoyed all of the mixed emotions that Harry had as well as Severus' struggle with patience. I look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks! The chapter was a bit of a struggle for both of them. Becoming a parent to a teen is a learning experience for Severus, and he knows that he needs to be careful with his temper. Harry's trust in him is fragile and one wrong word could shatter his hard work.

Oh wow. This story is so very different from any other fanfic I have come across, although it seems a very depressing subject I find it very interesting and think you have written it with a lot of care an consideration that is due to a story based on something that for many readers may well be personal. I have been reading almost non stop since yesterday trying to fit it all in before my 2 week holiday abroad! im glad that I am now caught up and will very much look forward to reading more, I love the characters in this and think the Flurry story was very very sweet, im just left wanting to poke Dumbledore in the eye however, his meddling must be stopped!! its a good job Molly is also on the case :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! It is a depressing subject though that just makes for more angst. ;) I'm happy to hear you like Flurry, she seems to be a readers' favorite. Dumbledore will get his due, don't worry. In the meantime, you can join the club wishing harm upon him. I hope you have a wonderful time abroad. A new chapter will be waiting for you when you get home.

Yay, I've finally caught up, and this chapter was definitely worth the wait (though of course it's hard to wait!).

I felt so bad for Harry being in such pain, but I'm happy that Severus was able to help him. Harry hasn't handled the news (of Severus being his father) well at all, has he? But I also can't help but think that part of that is because his nerves are already stretched to the breaking point with the cancer, and then being in pain and being scared and worried...he's just not in the best shape physically or mentally right now.

But hopefully he will see that Severus was trying to protect him and do what was best, and he still is.

Severus gets lots of points here for being so kind and patient and understanding. He's a wonderful dad and Harry is lucky to have him.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to Ron's visit. I hope that someone will prepare Ron ahead of time and that he'll come through for Harry. If Ron and Hermione can come to grips with the cancer and be strong for Harry, I think their companionship and support would be a very good thing for Harry now.

And loved the grades and how Severus reassured Harry that he didn't have to be an Auror. I always felt that Harry would have enjoyed another career more. I think at the time he wanted to be as prepared as possible to face Voldemort, and Auror training sounded fun and exciting, and he really wasn't interested in the other careers that were mentioned, so he settled on being an Auror. But I always thought that once the war was over and he wasn't in danger, and he was a bit older and more mature, that Harry would have realized that he really didn't enjoy all the confrontations and the danger, and that he might re-think that decision.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Yay, you've caught up! Though now you'll have to wait like everyone else, so I guess it's a bit of a double edged sword.

You're right that part of the reason Harry isn't handling the news well is because of all the other stressors in his life, but he was only told that morning, so he's still in shock a bit, I think. He doesn't know what to think or even what's he thinking. With a little time, he'll start to come around. If Severus keeps showing he cares, Harry will start to recognize it. I think a bit changing point will be when Severus is able to brew the memory restorative draught and regain his memories, so he's able to better explain things to Harry.

I'm sure Severus won't allow Ron in without at least trying to prepare him. ;)

I agree that Harry just kinda fell into his career as an Auror. I have some ideas for him, but we'll see if he changes his mind by the time I get there. Thanks!

PS: Congratulations on being the 500th review!

Thank you so much for updating great chapter very sensitive writing about their problems

Author's Response: Thank you! It's a delicate balance to treat all the issues just right. I'm glad to hear it's well received.

Ooh, great chapter as usual! I always get a thrill of pleasure when I see that you've updated.

Severus is excercising enormous patience with Harry. Poor kid, being in so much pain though.

Ooh, I'm glad that Harry will see Ron and Hermione soon.

LOL! Severus is really becoming a true Dad, isn't he? Telling Harry that he expects good grades from him.

Oh, and Harry's real name is not Snape? But Prince? Oh interesting.

Great chappie as usual!! I want more though! :)

Author's Response: Thank you! Sev's patience is certainly being tested, and he's passing quite well so far. I think it's part of him really becoming a dad though I'm sure he can still be scary and imposing when Harry does something really bad. Harry's full name is mentioned earlier in the story. I believe it's chapter 19, when Sev visits WCS. There's a little background there, but a lot more will be revealed coming up very soon.

Thought I would do this in a separate review cos I ramble sometimes ^^ So I was reading Sproutchild's awesome Antonomasia and kind of got carried away while at work with making a banner for it, and then I got more carried away and did the same for yours ^^. I would have stopped, but I enjoy it way too much.

I remember you wrote in your A/N somewhere that you liked the idea of Orlando Bloom as Severus, over Alan Rickman. And then I totally found a picture that I was like 'No Way! It's Snape!' (Guess which one in the banner ^^). I kind of agreed, Rickman is too old to play a 37 year old, though he is wonderful. I always picture Ioan Gruffudd or Sean Bean when I think of Severus, but Orlando Bloom is definitely the best image to work with ^^ So, rambling over, the link below should work.
If it asks for a password, it should be 'tacloban'.

You don't have to do anything with it, I just thought I would show you since it is completed based on your fic ^^ Do with it whatever you want

    Author's Response:

Don't worry about rambling. They're usually insightful when talking about a story. ;) I, too, love sproutchild's Antonomasia.

Ha, that's too funny that you saw a pic of Orlando and your first thought was that's it's Snape. I always think of the Kingdom of Heaven era Orlando as Snape with the slightly more muscular frame and straight, longer hair. Thanks for the pic/banner. I'll probably link it in my ff.net profile if that's alright with you? I have a little collection going there. Well, I will when I update my profile. lol. After my little vacation, I plan to get all the little things done I've been putting off. Thanks again!

Awww and he hasn't even realised how awesome Severus has just been, letting Ron visit and everything! Ron's reaction to both Harry and Severus is going to be very interesting ^^ I look forward to it.

That whole chapter was such a roller coaster. The first couple of scenes really tugged at the heartstrings! I was cringing for the both of them; Harry's pain is almost palpable.

And how can Severus doubt how much he means to Harry after that reaction to his Potions result? Sure, Harry needs it for his Auror career, but they had just discussed how much Harry really wanted that. Heh, and Snape's such a Slytherin, using 'Prince' just to get Harry curious. Very nice touch ^^

I don't exactly quite know what a semester or finals week is, but I'm glad it's almost over for you :)

Will be patiently awaiting the next update ^^

    Author's Response:

Interesting is going to be the word with Ron's visit. lol. It was a roller coaster of a chapter, but at least it ended on a high note. ;) Severus is a little insecure, and he's worried about Harry's acceptance of him. I'm sure Harry's reaction to his Potions grade helped, but they have a ways to go yet.

A semester is what most US high schools and universities use to divide the school year up. There's a fall and spring semester. Finals are the final exams that come at the end of each semester, usually one per a class, but sometimes you just have a paper due at that time or no final at all. Thanks!

I'm glad that Harry did as well as he did. Of course, his Defense grade is completely undeserved, but that's Umbridge for you. I have a feeling that most of her students got Dreadfuls.

I'm glad that Harry has finally agreed to see one of his friends. I hope that in time he will come to accept Severus' new role in his life and to understand that he didn't know that Harry was his.

Author's Response: I'm sure Umbridge's grades were totally out of whack. Good thing she doesn't have anything to do with OWLs. I'm sure Harry will come around. It's only been a day so far, and he's really at a lost of what to think and how he should be feeling. Harry's needs time to process the new information and to think about it before he figures out how he's really feeling. Thanks!

Don't like this .. I dont mean the story ... just that Harry has cancer ...... It's almost as if someone I know has cancer - depressing. Everytime you update, I get scared and dont wanna read but cant stop myself ... I open the chapter hoping Harry has got well. But he never does. It is depressing.

Author's Response: Cancer is a depressing thing, and it's not something that can be fixed overnight. Harry's in for a long journey, but you shouldn't be scared. Focus on the lighter moments inserted throughout the chapters. I have some more of those up my sleeve. ;) Thanks!
