Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: Thank you! The twins have been cooped up a little too long. I wouldn't want to be Molly trying to make sure they don't blow up the place. Severus is trying to change, but it'll take time. He's spent years being his closed off snarky self and to be nice will take effort.
I'm happy from growing relationship between Severus and Harry Thank, hope next chapter is coming soon Author's Response: Severus was watching the exchange. He gave Harry an opportunity to resolve it first, but he stepped in when he knew he needed to. This chapter was a turning point in their relationship, but it won't be smooth sailing. They still have a lot of things to work out. Thanks!
"For what, child?" the Potions Master asked, his tone questioning as if he wasn't sure what Harry was thanking him for. "You came," Harry explained, calm and distracted from Ron's visit. He felt Severus tighten his grip around him as a tiny smile crept its way onto his face. Was this what it was like to have a father? " Harry's starting to realize his father will be there for him-I hope that he can hold on to that fragile trust when times get tougher because I know that they will. Another part that I really liked was ""Okay," his professor wrapped an arm around his shoulder. Harry leaned against the man's side burying his head in Severus' shoulder as he felt warmth and security wrap around him, giving in to his subconscious' desire to seek out comfort from the man who was apparently his father" I do wonder what you have next for Harry to go through-so I hope you can update soon. BTW, did you see that special Sunday about St. Jude's Children Hospital? it was a cancer awareness/fundraiser. It was very touching. Author's Response: Harry's slowly starting to get used to the idea of having a father. This was a turning point, but it certainly won't be the last time Harry puts up a childish fight. He's had so much to deal with lately that once his emotions catch up, he'll have some things to say and work out. That one miniature breakdown he had back in chapter 15 can't be it. It was the tip of the iceberg really. Harry has some tough things ahead with new chemo drugs and Sirius' memorial that he doesn't know is looming. That will certainly bring up some buried emotions that'll have to be dealt with. I didn't see that special. I have seen other St. Jude's ones before. They are always very touching and informational. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm happy to hear you like the chapter.
Thanks for the update! V. Author's Response: You can certainly help Molly though you might have trouble getting a shot in. Ron really was driven by his fear. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much a mental filter so it all came out for Harry to hear. Yep, something good came out of it. It'll just be interesting to see how long it lasts. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks! That stopping point felt too natural to pass up even though I wanted to include the neuropathy chat in the chapter. I don't think Harry minded one bit. lol. ;)
Author's Response: I don't think Ron could've reacted any other way. That's just how he is. Severus may not have been a father to Harry for his whole life, but I'm sure there's been times as Head of Slytherin that Severus needed to comfort and distract a child in his care. Thanks!
That is wonderful news. Poor Harry. Ron is so insensitive. I love how Severus was there for Harry when he needed him, and Harry is realising that there are some advantages to have a father; one who'll look out for, and protect you. Great chappie as usual Ella. Oh, and maybe you aldready answered this. What is Harry's real name, Harry Snape, or Harry Prince, and if it is Prince as you hinted at in the previous chapter, why is it Prince not Snape? Should he not have the same name as his father, or has Snape changed his name. You've probably already explained all this, but I can't remember. Author's Response: Harry is starting to see some of the advantages of having a father. Their relationship is at a high point for the moment. It isn't the last of Harry's objections, and he hasn't totally accepted it yet, but their relationship took one step forward. Harry's real name is actually none of the above. It's Hadrian Prince as told in either Chapter 19 or 20 when Severus visits WCS. In the next few chapters we'll hear Severus tell Harry about his background, but the basics are already there. ;) It's just been a while. Thanks!
Congrats to Harry for being so excited about his grade and the upcoming classes. Author's Response: Thanks! I think Ron wouldn't be Ron if he reacted any other way. Ha, I have to laugh at that phrase. It's a good one. We'll see if Harry is excited about his upcoming classes once he learns of Sev's expectations.
Author's Response: Ron's scared and he let his fear take control of him. He's never really been exposed to the Muggle world, and part of him can't comprehend why a potion or two can't cure Harry and why the Muggle treatment is making Harry worse before it makes him better. I'm sure Ron won't get away without at least a scolding from his mum. Thanks! |
