Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Good chapter.
every time i read a story were harry has to ask "why" someone cares or why he deserves something nice or normal for kids his age, i wanna go and A/K those damn Muggles ***holes that raised him. Im glad Sev is there to to show Harry that he does deserve what he want/needs and that an adult who is in charge of you can love you. ~shannon Ps~ one more Cliffy like that and ill send a howler to your house with a tickling hex attached!LOL ;-) Author's Response: You can totally have the Dursleys to do whatever you want with. *winks* I'm sure Harry won't mind if you AK them for him, well okay maybe he might, but Severus won't. It'll take some time for Harry to believe and accept Sev's words and actions, but he's on his way. Well, I'm going to be gone for a month so you wouldn't be able to send that howler, but one won't be needed anyway. The next chapter doesn't end on a cliffy at all. Thanks!
But I loved that Severus went shopping for Harry. If I were Harry I'd LOVE all the office supplies. I love paper and pens and paper clips and all that for some reason. When school comes around I'm all giddy because I just love picking out my own supplies. XD *Nerd alert! Nerd alert!* lol The part where Harry makes the quill burn was great! I wish I could do that sometimes. But then that might prove to be dangerous for me...concidering if I get annoying customers complaining to me...it just wouldn't be pretty... But I just love that Harry and Severus are getting on a bit better now! XD But poor Hermione. I hope she will make Harry feel better and maybe get Ron to come around? Awesome chappie Ella!! Can't wait for your next update!!! Author's Response: You can totally have some oil. In fact you can have it all, Ivy! I don't know what you'll do with it since you can't really do much with it since it's filled with toxic dispersant. You're not the only one that loves buying school supplies. When I need motivation I'll go buy a new pack of pens or colored notebook paper and then I'll want to use it. You seriously cannot have enough pens. I always get all pretty colored ones. Who wants boring blue and black when you can have pink, sparkly purple, or even silver? ;) Sev and Harry get getting on a bit better for now. They still have lots of things to discuss and accept, but for now they're sitting in a good spot. Thanks!
oil? XD maybe gasoline for the car? :P Loving it so far can't wait to see how Sev thinks of a way to explain to Harry. Author's Response: Too bad you can't use the dispersant filled oil for your car. If so, I wouldn't have to buy gas for a long time. lol. ;) You'll get to see Sev's explanation very soon. Thanks!
I loved Harry's conversation with Minerva, and I think it's good for him to have her know about the situation (Severus being his father), and for her to be supportive. It's hard for Harry sometimes, because he is one of the parties intimately involved. But talking with Minerva helped him to see it more objectively (I hope) and she is someone whom he respects, so her opinion will carry some weight. It was also fun to read about Harry's pleasure in seeing his gifts, and that he is beginning to realize that Severus has changed and truly cares for him. Hermione has a wonderful relationship with her mum, too, which was nice to see. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter, and I hope Harry's new form of treatment will go well, though I'm concerned. Great job again! Author's Response: I agree. Sev's being a great dad, and it's certainly time Harry has someone looking out just for him. Minverva's opinion will certainly carry some weight. She knows both of them very well in different situations and it a good "outside" source that's able to see things without bias. I wanted to show a bit of the relationship between Hermione and her parents. We never really get to see it in the books, they're just figures that are mentioned in passing. I mean she's like hardly ever even with them. lol. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! It's easier for Sev to come to terms with it since deep down he still has those emotions he felt for Harry buried somewhere, whereas Harry doesn't remember any of it. I'm sure Harry will come around eventually, but he needs a lot of repeated reassurance until he'll be able to accept it.
Author's Response: The women's sizing isn't so confusing, compared to kids sizes. A size 16 in the UK for boys is like a lot bigger than a US boys size 16 according to the size charts I saw. I think the difference lies in the US expecting kids to get into and want to be in adult sizes by the time they're around 13/14 so a US boys size 16 is meant to fit a 14 year old instead of in the UK it's a 16 year old boy. If that wasn't confusing. lol. Thanks!
Author's Response: Harry's very snuggleable though I'm not sure if he'd like it or not. lol. Thanks!
Those coloring stones sound interesting, I don't think I've ever heard of them. Haha, Severus is ever the teacher, ""Organization is a key to receiving high marks," Severus passed him the next bag; its charmed removed so Harry could see a handful of binders and dividers lining the bag. "A different color binder for each subject to keep your notes and assignments in an orderly fashion." " That part made me smile. It looks like you did your research for the sizes. Yeah, I'm pretty good at picking out American sizes as well (I guess almost nine years of working at Kohl's will do that to you) I loved the scene with Hermoine, that was awesome! This sentence was the best, ""Why do you care?" Harry whispered" I am looking foward to you writing more. I really wanna know and to see the things Severus brought Harry for entertainment. Also looking forward to more agnst. Oh I was wrong before, the child in "Letters to God," has a brain tumor, not Leukemia, the review I read had it wrong. I've since read the book-an excellent read. I liked the return of Harry's insecurities. You are rather good at those cliffies. Author's Response: Thanks, autumn! I found those coloring stones while I was looking up kindergarten sized pencils. They look like fun as long as you're not coloring in small spaces. Severus can't help but be a teacher, he's been one for well like 14 years. Ha, isn't it amazing how you can like look at a person and guess their size? Or how you seem someone take something and you just know by looking that it won't fit them whether too small or too big? Yay, I'm glad you liked the cliffy sentence ending. It just felt right to end it there.
Author's Response: Thanks! The next chapter should be up in a few hours. |
