Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: Thanks! I try to balance out the sadness with a bit of funny moments or lighter ones. Even as sadistic as I can be with my characters, I realize they need a break once in a while. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks! I've been busy with my trip to London and then coming home needing to catch up on sleep and straightening out some school things, but I've finally finished a chapter. It needs to be edited, but it should be up soon.
You are so brilliant and amazing and I'm sorry that I wasn't reading for a couple mo—I suppose it's a year... But this is touching and sad. and I love it. Author's Response: Thanks! This way you've gotten to read a huge chunk at one time instead of waiting for me to update all the time. ;) I'm happy to hear you love it and the next chapter should be up soon.
ooo London, have fun! I heard it's freaky hot, bring lots of sun lotion! Don't worry take your time while I wait for an update I'll dream of Apple foods :D yum! Author's Response: London and hot? That's like an oxymoron. London weather was like the best ever. The first weekend I was there it was in the 80s, but the rest of the time it was in the 60s and low 70s which was perfect. Then I came home to mid 90s that refuse to go away. Grr. Why does Alabama have to be so hot from May to October? How were your dreams of apple foods? I hope tasty. Thanks!
Two more things because of it all. One, I've signed up to be the match (http://www.marrow.org/) and Two, I've joined a Team in Training for fundraising. Thanks again. Author's Response: I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. Adult ALL and child ALL is a bit different in terms of their treatments from what I've gathered, but I hope your aunt pulls through. Good for you for signing up to donate marrow. I'm way too much of a chicken when it comes to needles for that. I finally got the nerve up to donate blood a few months ago so baby steps. Thanks for sharing your story and you're welcome.
This chapter was so gorgeous and cute ^^ - I love that Harry didnt need to see the other memory... I wonder if he ever will...? (*dum dum dum*... = suspenseful music... 'tis so!). And as always your descriptions of occlumency and mindscapes are so fascinatingly... fascinating ^^, I love that even those golden orbs acted like Sev does with Harry, nice piece of writing, that *nods* mmhmm. And the memory he did so was so AWWWW, you cant not smile when reading that ^^ (makes me long for more Sev/baby!Harry chapters/ficlets) ... as to your foreshadowing question on ff.net... well, I have to say I didnt like Sev's; "The Dark Lord will have to kill me before he gets to you." because we obviously do not want voldy getting to either of them and if Sev decides he wants to be Harry's bullet-proof vest (voldy-proof vest?) well... he just better not die... lastingly... Oooh, but I wonder if: he Dark Lord was most likely sending Harry reminders through the scar on a consistent basis, but between all the side effects from his treatments and doses of pain medication Harry didn't even realize it. - means that Harry might be able to use the cancer or the treatment to his advantage? Oooh! Am I so very far off base in my foreshadowing guesses? *sighs* I'll have to try harder I think ^^. But thank you muchly for the chapter because this fic can only get awesomer as it goes on ^^ - totally a word and you know it ^^. Have the most fun ever in London, it'll be an absolute blast and I bet you love it and never want to leave and be safe and hope the trip(s) are full of sleep and interesting sight-seeing and singalongs... or not ^^... travel safe and have fun and tell us all about it when you can!!! x! ^^ Author's Response: A trip to London full of sleep? What's that? LOL. I had never been up so early for so many days since I was in high school. It was a blast though and nearly a month later I still think I'm working on catching up on sleep especially since the first two weeks I was back I kept waking up early because my body wasn't used to US time anymore. Yay, you loved the chapter! It was a tough one to write. Don't get too used to the Awww's. It's me we're talking about so angst is surely just around the corner. ;) I'm sure I'll write more baby Harry one-shots eventually. They're fun to write. Voldy-proof vest? That's just an amazing phrase. You'll have to wait and see if you're guesses are right or not... Thanks!
Author's Response: Elphaba lives! ;) I saw Wicked while I was in London from the first row and it was amazing, definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Thanks and the next chapter should be posted soon, right after I defy gravity. j/k. :)
Author's Response: I totally got inspiration from London but for things that are quite a bit a ways off in the story. My trip definitely helped with some of the details for this story that'll be popping up. I'm glad you liked the chapter. It was a difficult one to write as I kinda wrote the previous one and then realized I wrote myself into a hole. lol. Luckily, I didn't do that in the next chapter which should be posted soon. It needs a bit of editing yet. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks! The next chapter should be posted soon.
Anywho, back to the story...it was wonderful! Severus's answer was just fine! I know it was hard for him (and you) but I think Harry better understands what his father feels. I hope that Harry will understand everything once Sev gets his memories back and can talk to him. And I loved Flurry coming back! Haven't seen her much. And the letter from the Weasleys was great. XD Poor Ron. But Sev's a match!! Yay! I'm so happy that he is a match. I hope things go well for Harry if he needs the transfusion. I wouldn't want Harry to be a squib or anything like that. Awesome update Ella!! Enjoy your time in the UK!! :) Author's Response: You're right. I loved the UK! It was so awesome and COOL as in cooler temperatures. lol. Since I've gotten home the temps have been nothing but miserable. I can't wait for November and cooler weather. Harry has a bit of a ways to go before he understands everything. He's been hurt so much and for so long that those feelings can't go away overnight. It'll help once Severus gets his memories back, but it won't be a cure-all. Flurry's been hiding out a bit as cats are wont to do. They don't like to always be the center of attention like some Yorkies with a little Napoleon complex (AKA my dog, Zoe). Thanks! |
