Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
I did like Sev's parents. How did they handle Sev being marked? As I don't see them being the type to join the Dark Lord. Author's Response: I'm not sure if I'm going to include that when it comes to chemo. We'll learn more about Sev's parents as the story progresses. I didn't want to do a huge narrative dump in the middle of the chapter. It wasn't the place for it nor are narratives dumps good.
How horrible. Poor Harry. I feel so bad that he's got to go through all this. I love Sev's mother. How different from him. Author's Response: Actually, no one in my family or me has had leukemia. When I get an idea in my head, I tend to research it like crazy before writing about it. In terms of academic curiosity, I'm kinda like Sev in that matter. If I find something interesting or something I need to know, I can throw myself into it. Heck, I got a degree in recording industry - production and technology because it was creative, challenging, and sounded interesting, not that I knew really anything before I started to study it. Yay that you love Sev's mom. She's the result of a late night idea that popped into my head.
Author's Response: Thank you. We didn't get to learn much about Snape in canon, so it's fun explore his character. I've twisted his background which you'll start to know about next chapter and I think you guys will enjoy it. I hope to finish writing it tonight, so it should definitely be up before the end of the weekend.
Author's Response: Thank you. I did a ton of research before starting to write this and my best friend is in her last year of nursing school, so I'm trying to make it as realistic as possible with having a little leeway because of the muggle/wizard overlap. I'm glad you like my depiction of Dumbledore. He's not perfect, and when you take out the bias of only seeing him through Harry's point of view, he changes. While he means well, he doesn't always do what's best for people because he's so focused on the war.
Author's Response: Thanks. I'm trying to throw you guys a bunch of twists and turns. I hate stereotypical plots that you can guess after the first chapter. As for Sev wearing glasses, after all those years as a Death Eater spy, it would be unrealistic if he walked away as fine as the day he was marked.
Author's Response: I think the side effects will scare him more, too because he doesn't really fully get it yet. I don't think he's grasped just how serious his illness is yet because for the most part he doesn't feel too sick, just tired with a splash of wonky magic.
Poor Harry. It sounds like he is in for some very painful treatments in the coming weeks. I'm so glad that he has Snape to take care of him. Can't wait for the next chapter. You've done such a wonderful job, and so tastefully on such a heavy subject matter. Well done. Author's Response: Thank you. He's definitely in for some unpleasant treatments. We'll have to wait and see how his body reacts to the chemo. Good analysis on the argument. We'll have to see who really won later once the school year starts up next year.
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the story. We'll see their reactions soon if Harry wishes to tell them. Either way we'll see them in the story again in the next chapter or chapter after that.
It's good to see snape taking care of harry when the headmaster thinks it's nothing. Update soon can't wait for more Author's Response: Thanks. Someone has to stick up for Harry. The next chapter should be up within a few days.
Author's Response: I think it's a toss up, too. We'll have to see how it plays out to see who really won. |
