Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: The answers are coming soon, well the start of them anyway. I love stories where I have to figure things out, too so that's probably why I write like that. It's not as fun being told everything right away.
Technique: "Dudley watched on the tele" "telly" "You're off your rocker" American. Try "mad as a box of frogs" et al. James Potter's son in bed. "into bed" would be slightly better. Author's Response: Thanks, especially for the Americanisms. I try to catch the obvious ones, but as an American it's hard to spot.
I like the start, it holds the interest. Technique: "Potter's abhorrent decision to trapeze across Britain" I think you mean 'traipse' not 'trapeze'. "running for their mummy's" It's not a possessive, and should be 'mummies' It's just me: I hate the nickname 'Mione' Author's Response: Thanks again. And while I'm not too thrilled with Mione either, I can't see them after all these years not having a nickname for her. Don't worry, I probably won't use it too much.
It's 'piqued', actually. Otherwise, a highly interesting story. Author's Response: Oops. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I hate ones like that Word doesn't bring to my attention. Author's Response: I'm not exactly sure. LOL. It goes to show that the last time I saw a sugar cube was like ten years ago. But Sev would have a way. Perhaps he invented a spell and it's in the Half-Blood Prince's book. It just seemed to me it would be a Snapeish thing to do.
Aw, if my son's weren't allergic to cats, I'd say I want a Flurry! Please update soon, this story is proving to be quite exciting. Yeah, how does Flurry survive in Snape's quarters? Author's Response: Flurry is a special kitty, but we'll learn about that soon. =) If only my cat was that cute. I have a Roxie that's quite the troublemaker and everything must be done on her terms. |
