Oh, awesome story and chapter! I really like the development and all of the characterizations. Your Snape is so curious and so in character. Very well done! I can't wait to see what is in that tome! It was very interesting to see Harry's reaction, and hear that it was the reaction of a Muggle. Hmmm.. I like the cat. Great name, Flurry! Good job with Dumbledore. Hope that you are able to update soon!
Author's Response: Thanks. I always imagined Snape to be curious. He's a very intellectual person after all, and if he wasn't curious he would've never invented all the spells and improved all the potions that he did.

Whew - that is EVIL! poor Harry! I really like this so far. Severus can't seem to stick with his standard levels of hostility with Harry so distraught. And I'm looking forward to finding out what crazy plan Harry thinks Dumbledore has stuck him with that will be worse than the Dursleys', even if it does involve his least favorite teacher. Grimmauld Place maybe? Or is he afraid Dumbledore is going to wrap him up, stick a bow on him, and send him to Voldie as a peace offering? ;-)
Author's Response: I think Harry figured it out and Severus couldn't see that maybe Harry is more intelligent than he's willing to admit.

Author's Response: Unfortunately, his character has to start there or there'll be nowhere for him to go, and it is in character. Remember, too, that a lot of it is from Harry's point of view and of course he's biased.
Wow, great start! I have a feeling that the calming draught is going to put Harry right to sleep though!! Thanks for beginning this story! It is well done so far and I look forward to updates! Love the mystery of Harry's magic. Hope Snape gets to the bottom of that and other things. Lovely start.
