Reviews For Just a father
Author's Response: Shigeki11, Yeah, it is rather awkward for them. Thanks. -Mel :)
Author's Response: Fairner, Thanks, and yeah me too. It will take some time before Harry can be a regular kid (put aside the famous aspect and all) and understand why Sev is the way he is, but it will come eventually. Haha, yeah the Christmas chapter is one of my favourite parts. The mail order owls basically mean that you order something than they send it to you, saving you from having to actually purchase it. They can have the money withdrawn from yuor account also if you don't have it. Basically like our mail orders but with owls instead of postmen :P. They can have it gift wrapped already if requested for a little extra, which Harry did request. Thanks. -Mel :)
Author's Response: Monica, Thanks, yeah it was one of my more favourite times in the fic. -Mel :)
Author's Response: S.S, Thank-you and I'm happy to hear that. -Mel :)
The nightmare thing is interesting. It was a nice bonding moment there. I think my favorite chunk during that sequence was where Snape wondered where the brave Gryffindor went? Nice paragraph there. I can see how Harry would be embarassed about the question he asked Vernon, but Snape does have a point: He wanted a father to confide in...use him! And go Snape for calling Vernon an idiot. Poor Harry. Not able to comprehend anything other than Snape admitting to caring about him. But, again, go Snape for admitting it in plain English! Love how "I do not wish for you to suffer," could break the boy's emotional wall like that. And love how he threw himself at Snape. I always thought of that too! Harry can cook well (since he cooks for the Dursleys in canon) so why could he not excel in potions? It's the same type of thing. More like baking I suppose. But that always puzzled me too. Yay! Snape is realizing how lonely he is, and how much he needs a family just as badly as Harry. Yayness. Huzzah on another chapter! Author's Response: Raven Knight, Have I mentioned how much I love your reviews? :P. Haha, that image was very likeable too, until you mentioned it I hadn't visualised it that well and now it seems rather hilarious to have Snape going crazy in search of those boxes that have been sadly long packed away. That paragraph about the brave Gryffindor seemed to be so perfect for the moment, it's what I imaged he'd wonder if he ever saw Harry with his nightmares. Harry wants a father but is still a bit unsure and nervous about taking advantage of something for himself. Haha, plain English lol. Thanks for all of your lovely comments as usual. And yes, the cooking part always bugged me. potion-making is simular to cooking, although I do think that perhaps Snape's attitude may have effected the subject itself somehow. Thank-you!! -Mel :)
I like the warm tone. But I guess things will turn difficult again soon. Author's Response: La Mariane, You're welcome. Me too, although you're right...they are going to hit a bump in the road soon. -Mel :) |
