I loved this chapter! Harry's angst over getting Severus killed was just perfect. I loved their mushy moment--poor Severus! He's going to have to get used to this because Harry's a bit clingy, and with good reason; he's never had anyone to cling to before! Again, I'm so excited you're back! I really missed this fic, just as much as my "brothers of bond" fic, which I just updated btw. I always love hearing what you think. And yes, Snape is going to have to deal with a clingy Harry, but if he's not careful he may end up getting a little clingy himself hehe. They're both quite lacking there. I'm glas you're excited I'm back because when I went on "hiatus" I also had hit some blocks but when I returned and read the entire fics over I was swarmed with ideas and inspiration again. 'Where have I failed you if you no longer wish for me to be your father?'- my heart literally hurt when I read that. I felt so bad for Severus here! (I guess it didn't help that I was listening to the Schindler's List soundtrack either though lol) Poor guy! "one that could surely be fixed or else Snape wasn't a Slytherin."- I giggled insanely on this line. I just couldn't help myself. Very good! "Yes, potions have always been very understanding of their master."- okay, I absolutely ADORE this line! It was perfect!! I don't know why, but I think it's brilliant!! Fantastic phrasing, I think! :) "It reminds me of your hair: dark and weird' He frowned."- okay, here I BURST out laughing! I could just see Severus's face, this blank annoyance while Harry's just looking in the mirror oblivious to how he's offended Snape! Man, that was hilarious! ...but hmmm...Harry's hair is 'weird' like Snape's? Is this going to lead to anything else? Or am I totally off and it was just a gateway into letting Harry know Snape knows more about his real family? Oh! You need to update soon so I can find out! Well, water, I "oo'd" and "aww'd" all through out this. Wonderful chapter! I understand the delay, but I'm also excited to hear that I'll be seeing another chapter again soon. All those lines/quotes were my favourite too. Glad you liked them as well! Yes Harry's hair is a bit alike Snape's, although he is comparing himself to the man for a reason, mostly because he is starting to consider himself his son without really realizing it. I am not going anywhere with this, at least not until the potion is in effect, but this is still significant. Although it was also used as a gateway. And I will update very soon lol. A few things though: You've had Snape explain three times that he was Lily's friend, this seems rather odd as I think Harry would have picked up on it the first time. How did Harry know that Snape used to be a DE? It's only in book 4 that Harry gets to know about DE(and everything first war Voldemort related) at all. How could Harry visit Ron when Ron was supposed to be on vacation(which was why Harry couldn't visit them for Christmas)? Whatever happened to the duelling club and the basilisk? And Dobby? Where does this story diverge from cannon? Author's Response: Ichihime, Thanks for your review :). And to clear those things up: I intended for Snape to explain that he was Lily's friend more times than required. Mostly the man isn't aware of the count, but also because he wants to make sure Harry knows that, even though you're right...surely Harry isn't as dense not to notice that by now. That time he told him, Harry was checking facts and feeling unsure, but Snape took the chance to remind him anyway. This will be further explained later. Yes, I noticed that I forgot to mention that Harry does know about Death Eaters. It's from reading and asking Hermione a few questions that resulted in this knowledge. I needed him to know about them obviously, but I hadn't realized that I hadn't made that clear to the readers. Ron is on vacation, but floo's home for the actual Christmas day and an odd day here or there so that the family can be home for at least some section of it. I am going to make sure I keep an eye on such details, thank you for pointing them out because I understand now that while it's obvious to me, I tend to make sure my readers are aware of it as well. And while this story is set in second year, the actual "Chamber of Secrets" plot does not apply, therefore no Dobby, Basilisk, Petrified victims, Riddle's book, Heroic slides down dark tunnels etc. -Mel :) |
