I almost feel sorry for Umbridge having all four of them furious with her... except I really don't. Poor Harry.
If/when you get around to writing some more, can we have some more Ron? I really like how you've portrayed him, such a supportive and understanding friend.
My favourite line is actually right back in the second. Snape comments that he really needs to stop confusing when he is being a spy and when he is a teacher, so he can stop instinctively reacting to weakness and losing all his evenings to detention.

Hi! I've read the whole story in a oner so I'm only reviewing now. It's great! I love how you built up Snape so that it was convincing when he started caring for Harry, and not too forced which is an easy trap for Snape fics to fall into. I love love LOVE the friendship between the Trio (although I felt Hermione was a bit too negative in the early chapters) particularly the way you show Ron as a really caring friend who Harry can rely on. It's so in tune with canon and its lovely to see in a fic because he's often shown as an idiot or greedy or jealous or... And that's so untrue! So you've got the Trio spot on and I relish it!
Hope you finish this some day! No matter how long you leave it, Hogwarts - it's fandom, it's fic - will always be here to welcome you home.

This is a brill story!! I really want to know if snape will feel guilty when he finds out he caused harry to be caned by umbridge by making him late to detention with her and disagreeing to chane te time of hi detention. But I really feel sorry for poor harry. Using the blood quill, being caned and having feak carved into his skin- was that the dursleys?
When you update I would like to see harry very fragile and untrusting of snape. Mabye snape could go to a death eater meeting then come back in a really bad mood.
Then he could get himself drunk after the meeting. Harry could come down and snape might yell at him in his drunken state. Then slap him and send him to his room.
Mabye in the morning he has a hangover and forgets all about harry and forgetting to feed him all day.
Harry could be getting really depressed and feeling snape was like his aunt and uncle and having flashbacks of the dursleys- they starved him and beat him and prehaps vernon drunk as well.
Then snape could relise what he had done and try to get harry to trust him.
I really hope this will help you in your next chapters and I hope my VERY LONG AND DETAILED review will I forage you to updat quickly!

Hey sproutchild! I just rediscovered this fic and read it through again in one sitting, and now I remember how much I missed it! I hope that you decide to pick it back up again sometime soon. I do so very want to know what happened to that ol' toad of a woman Umbridge. I like to imagine Hogwarts students standing shocked in the hallways as she went flying past them towards Dumbledore's office. :)
