Great story so far! Thank you for keeping everyone in character so far, especially Snape haha. I can't wait to read your next chapter.. and kind of hope that Harry skips his detention >:)

This is a good start to what looks like it will be an interesting story. But Harry better watch that temper, though I forsee more detentions in his future if he does something stupid and provokes Severus by not showing up for detention. Although one would think from living with Vernon, harry would know how to shut his mouth and not provoke authority figures that way, even if they are being unfair. You might want to make him a little less argumentative, since this is his first year and I see first year Harry as being sort of quiet around teachers. 5th and 6th year he starts to get an attitude with some of them.
And if you have this as an abused Harry story, as in abuse physically by a man, he definitely wouldn't be so quick to answer back that way.
I hope Sev softens up some later on, once he realizes that harry had a childhood similar to his own.

Hmm...quite a 'normal' and calm beginning...might be the 'calm before the storm'!

"He smiled as a muttered "Great." could be heard from the adjacent room." I found myself smiling at that line...and one thought came to my mind...Severus smiling...creapy!!
"What he needed was a hard smack to his backside!" I nodded...but then sighed. I think Harry needs more than a 'hard hand', but someone to be with him...and blablabla, you know, all the mushy stuff.
Ok, gotta go!

Author's Response: Wow! Wasn't expecting any reviews to be honest. Chap. 2 is done and hopefully you'll find it more intriguing. Although I won't be updating for a while, until I have Ch. 3 started at least. So busy with school. Thank you very much for the kind comments!
