Reviews For Tricks and Treats
Author's Response: Oh, thank you. I could possibly write an Epilogue to go with this.
Anywho, this was a very fantastic story! And the whole haunted house had me nervous, but I kept thinking, maybe it's Sirius? Sounds like him to make such a dare to the children and he could do a good job freaking people out. That was awesome! But to invite kids into the house while Remus is ill...that's a bit dangerous. But he must have been sure Remus wouldn't get out. Ron and Hermione were hilarious in this! And the whole talk about witches and wizards being real or not made me laugh. Poor James doesn't really know anything. But I was more than a little amused with the fact that all the kids are still creeped out by Snape. Maybe he should have dressed in his normal clothes on Halloween and freaked even MORE children out! XD ...is that a bit mean of me? lol Fantastic story Pandora! I'm sorry I didn't think to read it earlier on Halloween! Would've been perfect since I dressed as Malfoy (I'm too blonde to have been anyone else lol) This was definitely a treat! :D Author's Response: Of course Ninja Turtles were listed. What would Halloween be without them!! Thanks Ivy. Yeah, that would have been funny, wouldn't it? Snape dressed up as himself, and scaring the wits out of the kids. The haunted house was funny, wasn't it? Yeah, Sirius shouldn't have been more careful about Remus, but this is crazy Sirius we're talking about. But he still would never have taken a chance with childen being hurt. Remus was well secured. I loved writing Ron and Hermione too. Ron, especially, was fun to write. Hee hee. Poor little Lesley; she didn't know WHAT to believe.
Thanks Ivy, and I always love your stories too. Hint hint....
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I love Sirius and Remus.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!
Pettigrew caught, Sirius absolved and, above all, Harry finally having a father - happy endings all around! :) Lovely story! Thanks for sharing! Author's Response: Yeah, Ron's a hoot, and really fun to write. I loved writing him and Hermione bickering too. Yeah, I love happy endings too, although I know that they can't all be. Thanks for reviewing.
Author's Response: Oh thank you Angelauthor, and I love your story to!
Author's Response: Yeah, I bet she would look awesome in the witches costume. I can't draw people either! :(
Anyway, the story was very cute. I loved over-protective Sev and I adored that Sirius was there (and Remus, though he was a tab indisposed) and that they will be able to tell him that he has been vindicated. And Pettigrew has been captured! Yay! I gather that this story is a spin off of "Sparks Will Fly'? I know we are only at the start of third year in that story, but you say here that Harry is fourteen, so he would be in fourth year. You also said that they had only known for a matter of months that Sev is actually Harry's father. Perhaps this story is an entirely different scenario. Anyway, it was very cute, regardless. I wonder, are Canadians quite as caught up in Halloween as the mericans are? I am not sure how big it is in England, though I would not have thought it would be anywhere near as big as it is in the US. Here, of course, it is practically a non-event. Retailers are trying to jump on the band wagon and turn it into a big money-making deal, but we would be lucky to see half a dozen kids out and about and most of them are just teenagers who don't bother dressing up and just want to cadge some lollies and use it as an excuse to 'egg' your car or windows if you don't have any. They also use shaving cream to spray on the cars and that eats into the paintwork if not removed straight away. I have an English friend and she said that it was never anything in her day. But she is in her mid sixties now. I know JK wrote about kids running around on Halloween in DH, but I wonder just how many do. Once again, thank you for the dedication. Lesley~ Author's Response: Hi Lesley,
I'm glad that you liked it. It's strange, but when it popped into my head to write "little" Lesley, the name also did, and then as I started to write her, I coulcn't help thinking about little Bonnie. I think that Bonnie is a little younger than Lesley though, but I just kept picturing her in my mind as I was describing her. Yeah, Canadians love Halloween. At least most of them. I know that in England, it's probably not as big, but JK did have Hogwarts have a feast and everything, so I figured it wouldn't be too farfetched to have Harry trick-or-treat, and it was fun to write. Oh, that spraying of the cars, and eggs, sometimes happens here the day before Halloween. They call it "Matte" Day or something like that.
The story is very loosely based on Sparks Will Fly, but although SWF, will feature Sirius, the scenario will be a bit different, as you will see later on. It's strange but Sirius' presence in this story was a spur of the moment decision. It just sort of popped into my head as I was writing about the Haunted House. I'm not really sure why! I just thought that it sort of fit in with the way that Severus was trying to get Harry to view Halloween in a different light, and this is why I also made Harry fourteen, instead of thirteen or fifteen, so that Sirius would have still been on the run, the third year would be over, but Voldemort's return wouldn't make Severus stop Harry from going out altogether for Halloween.
Anyway, thanks for the review, and I'm glad that you are okay with me dedicating the story and basing little Lesley after Bonnie!! I love that story so much! |
