Reviews For The Biggest Mistake of Them All?
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I love writing little Harry, I wish we saw more of his pre-Hogwarts years in the books, but only if he was raised by Sev or Remus or Sirius or someone...so that wouldn't fit into the books at all I guess. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review, I'm so happy you liked it. I really did enjoy writing it, mind you, I enjoy writing anything and everything! Have an imaginary boggart, they're most useful for putting under people's beds!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! I love Harry's eyes! I want them to be as emerald green in the films as they are in the books, I wish I had green eyes but my sister got them instead *scowls* Not that I'm jealous you understand ;-) I definitely think I may do a sequel just because so many people have asked for one and I feel it's owed due to all the lovely feedback. Plus, I loved writing this anyway. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I think you may be right about the food, but I had just read a fic where he ate his food off the floor like an animal and I guess it influenced me a little. That is the reason why I should just write and not procrastinate by going off to read other people's fics! Well...one of many reasons. Thanks again!
I love it. Great Job! I really liked how you portrayed Snape, he was just perfect. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when he and Dumbledore were having their "discussion" at the beginning of the story. I also liked Severus pretending to catch the "boggart" that was under the bed. Very cute story, I would love to see more. ;-} Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! I am so glad you enjoyed it, because I enjoyed writing it. Snape is so much fun to write, I always used to struggle with him but I suppose I must be getting a bit better, thanks to all the brilliant P&S fics I read I think! Sequel coming soon! (Warning: My definition of soon is not quite the same as most people's....ie, soon is not that soon at all. But it will be up the second I get some free time, promise.)
Author's Response: LOL, poor Sev for sure. He doesn't even know the worst of it yet! Thanks so much for the review!
Thanks for sharing! Author's Response: Ohhh, thanks so much! That really means a lot to me. To be totally and completely honest, this fic took me much longer to write than any story has before, but I wasn't sure whether that was a good or bad thing. I took it to mean that it wasn't very good, because I'm pessimistic like that (lol, no I'm normally an optimistic person...honest ;-), but everyone has been saying such nice things so I guess it was okay. I was thrilled actually, everyone on this site is so kind. I'm going to work on a sequel to thank you all over Christmas break, but I'm not promising it will be up at Christmas because I have all my exams January *sighs* . Thanks so much!
I can't believe Snape actually pretended there was a boggart under the bed lol. It would be funny, if you did a continuation like you suggested on the chatbox and there really was a boggart under there one day (Snape could check every night, lol)! Anyways, nice work! I really enjoyed this piece and hope that you choose to write more! -P.G. Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! It's so lovely to hear that you liked it! I was all surprised when reviews started to come in, I didn't know the fest was starting that day so I got all worried that I'd accidently posted it myself or something! I don't know how I would have done that, but knowing me and my dunderheadness (Snape informed me of my condition this morning) I would have found a way. I was thrilled to have been the first fest fic uploaded though, it made my day! I'm definitely doing to do a continuation to thank everyone for their lovely reviews but I'm not sure when it will be up, when exams are over I hope. Thanks so much!
Author's Response: Thank you so, so much! I am so relieved you think I kept them both in character, I struggle with that sometimes. Or I focus on the stereotypes of the character and don't give them a well-rounded personality with many levels. Mind you, the latter is quite difficult to convey in a one-shot. I'm definitely considering a sequel after everyone's lovely reviews. Now, I just have to do a bit of planning for it... Thanks again!
I don't know if I'd wand to be Harry when Snape woke up. He'd likely be horrified with the thought of cuddling with a child. The take on the boggart was cute. I was expecting a real one, but nope just an imaginary one. You also did a great job with keeping Snape in character. It's really hard to do at times when all you want is for him to soften up and help Harry. Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review! I am so glad you enjoyed it! Ah yes, one of my main stories over at FF.net has a young Harry who was abused and I get so absorbed with that Harry that he seeps into everything I write. Harry was just going to be an average little boy but before I knew it he had his lips tightly closed and wasn't saying a thing, so what could I do? He had to be frightened, and there was only one explanation for that. I was joking about that with one of my friends just as I finished it! We came to the conclusion that Snape would think that he hadn't woken up yet and this was still some nightmare! Then Dumbledore tells him the news... I'm so glad you liked the imaginary boggart, he was real but then I altered it as I mentioned to someone else. Thanks so much! I always struggle a bit with Snape because he has to have a heart in there somewhere and I just really wanted him to give Harry a big hug! Ah well, he got it eventually. Thanks again! |
