Loved this chapter! James has needed to be told off for a long time. I think this was the last straw for everyone involved.

Author's Response: He really has needed to be told off.  Lily tried, but it didn't work.  Sometimes it just takes an outsider to get the job done.

He finally realizes that he messed up; it's a miracle! Too bad it's too late. Andromeda is right; his parents should have disaplined him more often when he was a child, perhaps if they had Harry wouldn't have gotten hurt at all. It's time for James to grow up and realize that his behavior is only hurting his son and if he continues with it he deserves to lose the right to see him. In the end it will be what's best for Harry that matters. James is going to have to suffer the consequences of his actions and I have a feeling he isn't going to like what is coming.

Author's Response: He's not going to like what's coming, but at least he's finally realized that he has messed up.  That will go a long way.  Thanks for reading!

I've read through all of this, trying to give it a chance since I like all of your other stories. But there's really nothing that I like about this. Your characters are completely one-sided, without any depth. James is a complete idiot, who does everything absolutely wrong and Lily and Snape are the exact opposite, doing everything right and perfect and wonderful. Your portrayal of Harry is very unrealistic as well. He loved everything Snape loves and hates everything James loves. And quite frankly, I think it's rather criminal the way Lily and Severus are treating James as if he is some sort of second class citizen. Severus should be the one who's slapped around by the healer. It's really cruel of Severus to refer to Harry as his son to James. And what sort of healer screams at a person like that?

And for the record, children ride horses all the time. Sure, a Hippogriff is not a horse but it's the same concept. Kids ride elephants too. Child services wouldn't be called because a child fell off of one.

I don't really understand why you wrote this story except as a vehicle to bash one of JK's characters. James has flaws, sure. But so does Snape. Interesting that you never mention those.

Give your characters more depth; it will make them more believable and the story will be more enjoyable to read.

Author's Response: I'm sorry that you don't like the story.

You've created a wonderful world here, with the bonus that my least favourite character - Sirius- doesn't look set to feature too much. I'm surprised that I can't tell who's writing - it flows seamlessly.

Author's Response: Thankas and no Sirius won't be in it much.  Hope you like the next chapter!

Oh James is so stupid! I want Sev to kick his ass so bad! Him or Lily! Poor Harry, I feel so bad for him. He never should have gotten on that hippogriff. He's too little to ride one and his father should have known that.

Author's Response: A lot of people feel the same and he really needs to learn to think beofre he acts, especially with a young child.  maybe now he'll learn better.

Aw, poor Harry. Thank God he's okay.

No thanks to James. Great chappie Snapegirl, and I'm looking forward to seeing Snape kick James' ass.

Author's Response: Oh Severus is furious as is Lily and so will others be too. James is going to get an earful and then some.  Thanks for reviewing!

What an idiot! He ought to have his custody privileges revoked because he was so irresponsible. Severus should have knocked him out. I would have. I hope Harry will be all right.

Author's Response: Actually I probably would have too! You'll see how Harry is doing in the next chapter.

Yep, my psychic prediction came true. James really needs to take a grow-up-already pill. He was incredibly irresponsible to allow Harry up on Buckbeak by himself without ensuring that he would be safe. He obviously cannot be trusted with Harry or any other child without supervision. I fully support the idea of them doing whatever it takes to keep Harry out of harms way, even if that requires making his time with James abbreviated and monitored.

    Great chapter!

Author's Response: You are absolutely right. And sadly there are real people like this, I happen to know of a few.  They will be doing everything they can to protect harry and to make James realize that he needs to grow up and stop acting like a child and act like an adult.
