Author's Response: Hm, I don't want to make any promises this early on. To be perfectly honest, when I wrote the first draft of this chapter, it was completely different. I will say, however, that with things as they are (Draco having cast an unforgivable on a fellow student, Snape having taken the unbreakable vow, and Dumbledore having been cursed by the ring), there is very limited space to make Snape as coddling as I may like without catastrophic results. Whew, I hope I answered your question as cryptically as possible. :) Thank you for your review!

Author's Response: I drew inspiration from the fact that it was 3am and I was kind of semi-conscious while writing this chapter. I'm happy to have convinced at least one person that I knew what I was talking about. Hehe. Thanks for your review!
Author's Response: It's funny that you mention the OOCness of Harry. When I was writing this, I had about half a page discussing how odd it was for Harry to be thinking through a decision for a change, but I decided it was a little much and cut it out. I'm sad, though, that I didn't leave a single line of it. Oh well, perhaps it's material for a later chapter, yes? Anyway, thanks for the great review; there's lots of good stuff in here to consider.
