Reviews For A Dangerous Game
Anywho, on with the review...While I'm enjoying Snape being old Snape, I couldn't help the "awww!" moment when he tucked Harry into bed and then left the warmed food out for him. ^_^ Snape's so cute! And Poor Harry all sad and bitter. I hate it when people get really bitter. It's really not good for their health. But WAKE UP HARRY!! You HAVE a father-type figure now! Or you will later. It's hard to keep hating someone when you're forced to live with them, even for a short while. (I know from traveling around and having roommates! XD ) But I hope Harry doesn't go over board with his own revenge. It's sounds worrisome to me...but I guess if it brings Snape and Harry closer...what a father/son outing THAT would be? lol Another brilliant chappie Pandora! Author's Response: Hee hee! "I" would answer "that" ad for sure. Sexy, hot cute Potions Master, needs cuddling, but keep it secret, he's very prickly.
Yeah, I like tohose little moments when Severus shows just a tiny bit of affection for Harry, without realiising it. Hopefull, Harry will realise what he has in Snape, and look behind the reserved exterior. Harry needs to let go of his anger and his quest for revenge. Maybe Snape can pull him in if he goes too far. Yeah...what a reunion.
Thanks Ivy, for the lovely review.
But Harry is so grief-stricken, it hurts, and the way that Severus is beginning to care and to feel protective is just beautiful, even if he won't let himself show it to Harry. I'm glad that Severus does know that Harry was abused, so he can see that his own preconceived ideas were wrong, and it was sweet of him to allow Harry to sleep and to keep a plate warm for him. I loved the line about how forbidding Harry to enter the room was like dangling candy in front of a baby. LOL, that's so true. Now, Sev really should have known better! Author's Response: Thanks Kristeh. I guess I should put a warning at the beginning of the story: "Kleenex required"! Yes, both Severus and Harry are very conflicted, and Snape is so proud that he won't admit that his feelings for Harry are changing. And Harry is still consumed with grief and resentment, so he's not totally accepting what's before his eyes; that Snape cares about him, and would protect him with his life, and not just out of a sense of duty to Dumbledore.
Poor Harry, but Severus, while reserved and proud, is beginning to change his views on Harry; admitting it is a little harder for him. He has to shed all his preconceived notions about who Harry Potter really is, and he has to stop projecting his feelings about James onto Harry. I thought that that was sweet too. ( Do not let Snape ever know that I used his name and the word, "sweet" in the same sentence!!
Hee hee. You just cannot dare a Gryffindor not to do something. That's like giving them permission to do it!! Yes...Snape should have known that to forbid Harry to do something, would only tempt him to do the opposite.
I'm really enjoying this fic! -P.G. Author's Response: Yeah, Harry was very confused over his own conflicting emotions. Severus may be a reserved man, who keeps his emotions close to the chest, but he'd never physically abuse a child, even though he hasn't been above psychologically abusing one. He's always made excuses for his own maltreatment of Harry, but now he's forced to examine his own shortcomings and really see Harry for who he is. He's had to admit that Harry is not all he thought that he was. He's had to admit that the boy has been though hell and back, and some of it was at Snape's own hands.
Severus is determined to make up for it, without giving up his pride. Not an easy feat!
Thank you P.G.
Author's Response: Oh yest, this confrontation should be interesting to say the least. Harry can't let go of his need for revenge, but perhaps he'll let go of this need, when he realises that he has Snape's support. Perhaps the need for revenge will lessen as Harry feels some of his gried and anger leave him.
I'm somewhat worried about Harry's latest plan, however. It sounds like he could easily put a civil front up for Snape and not really allow himself to feel genuine emotion for him. I hope that doesn't happen. Author's Response: Sometimes it seems like they're taking one step forwards and two step backwards, but evntually they'll get there.
Harry is numb and confused right now; he's not thinking clearly. Things will change as he sees that Snape is making an effort and vice versa.
Author's Response: Thanks. Are you running out of kleenex yet? LOL! Yeah, it is sad, isn't it? Harry can't think of anything but revenge at this point, but he will will get some rewards that he wasn't expecting out of this "arrangement". |
