Reviews For Away in a Manger
I like that the house elf spoke standard English. In that house, I'm sure it's required for them to do so. Thanks for sharing. Author's Response: You're right. He's not all that easygoing and Severus and Harry will have to learn how to compromise a bit. Yes, it is. The Prince house elves are very much like beloved English retainers in all those Victorian novels. They are almost like members of the family and so speak correct English. Augustus values proper speech and he is very formal when he wants to be.
You're welcome and I've posted again so enjoy!
Same House as Last Time Author's Response: You won!!
Congratulations and here's your House points and cookies and cocoa! I love that movie and couldn't resist having a quote from it in here. BTW, I've updated again!
Thanks for the update! V. Author's Response: If he could, he would do so, but . . well you'll see what happens. You're welcome!
Author's Response: Henry is actually the proper form of Harry, from the Old English form. Harold is the Saxon form of Henry, or Henri, from Norman French. Harry is a nickname derived from Henry and Harold, and so is Hal. If you study British history, you'll see that many kings are named Henry and called Harry by their close relatives and friends. Henry the VIII's nickname was "Great Harry" and he was called that or "Hal" by his close family members. Sorry, I used to be a British history scholar, and I tend to ramble when I get on that subject. Hope that helped answer why Augustus calls Harry Henry. Thanks for reading and I've just updated again!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! No, that's not the answer, but good guess!
Author's Response: Thanks so much and hope you like the next part!
Severus cannot keep Harry's true identity a secret from Augustus too long, especially with the scar and especially since they will be living with Augustus. Augustus seems to be a general against Voldie so I don't think he would mind being the protector of the boy-who-lived. He would be the perfect person to help raise Harry. Since Sev is only 21, his grandfather is the perfect person to help raise him as well LOL... he would be good to give Sev advice as well. Update soon Author's Response: Thankas and eventually Augustus will put two and two together, he's too smart not to. He would be a wonderful protector for Harry and be quite capable of kicking Voldy's ass. I have just updated, BTW.
As for your hidden story - all I can say is that Smithers has reminded me of Scoorge from a Christmas Carol from the very beginning... but it is early morning here and my brain is functioning on limited caffine... so no idea if my hunch is right. I really loved this chapter. Thanks! Author's Response: Ah, he won't be too happy when he does find out. Yes, you're right, Smithers is Very like Scrooge. Thanks and I have a new one out!
I loved when Snape told Smithers where to stick it!! I hope that Augustus accepts Harry still as his grandson when he finds out that they are not related by blood. I love this stoy, and I'm dying to see Harry grow up, and him and Snape grow closer. Author's Response: That Smithers, he's somebody you just want to kick! Hard! Oh i think Augustus will, because by the time he finds out he'll be in love with Harry and still consider him his grandson, blood or not. That's coming up.
Author's Response: He probably would, but Severus finds it hard to trust anyone due to his upbringing. I think Augustus was afraid to do so, because he was afraid of being rejected. Yes, they do and it will help them immensely. |
