The name Valeska is a diminutive of Valeria, the feminine form of Valerius, which comes from the Latin "valere", meaning "to be strong".

This was one of fav. chapters so far. To think that the baby that once blew a raspberry at him, was the one finally got through to him.

Being of Slavic origin I was greatly surprised by the name and 've done some research. And Bingo! It's not Slavic, it's German: •Valeska (von lat: Valeria, die Gesunde, die Kräftige, die Starke, die Glorreiche, von valere - stark, weibliche Form von Valerius, Ladislaus) ist ein weiblicher Vorname. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valeska Means Healthy, Strong or Powerful.
And a great chapter, SnapeGirl! We love you!

What a beautiful chapter! Glad to see Harry remembers the goodness of giving and hopefully will make Smithers a little happier. Sometimes that's all it takes.
I think Valeska is a brilliant familiar for Severus and they will get on great.
As for Augustus, he might be a little angry that Severus didn't trust him, but then he'll get over it, because Harry really is his great-grandson in his heart.
Author's Response: Thanks so much and read the next part to see if you're right!
Again a lovely chapter. I do feel for Smithers, and wonder if Harry has won a friend in him.
I think Augustus will take it as well as can be expected, though I think he'll immediately understand the legal implications of the situation and try to get it cleared up.
Ooh ooh me me! Im one that cant wait for the next chapter :D ive been wondering how Augustus will take the news, I like to think that he would be proud of Severus for keeping Harrys' best interests when so many would have used him as a hero :)

Nice one! I suppose Augustus would be mad as hell, not at Severus, but the Durseleys! Not sure how Harry will take it though.. I hope you are not planning on having him know yet!
I must say, I never expected to feel sorry for that Smithers but now I do. I'm glad Harry showed him some kindness and got him a present, he's a thoughtful boy.
I loved Severus' new familiar and I hope Augustus is not too harsh with Severus for keeping that secret, he should understand.
Love the Bird. Is Smithers really a Grinch or is he more of a Scrooge? ;)
