For some reason, I imagined that was how Harry was going to be told. In a fit of temper. Wow what a chapter and what a cliffee. I really liked that Howler. My face turned red as well when I read that. Keep up the good work and please update ASAP. :)
Harry behaved exactly like you would expect an eleven year old to act during his first time away from his parent. At first he did his best to behave, then he started to have fun and to slack off a bit. Severus is right about Professor Malfoy though, it was her responsibility to ensure that her students applied themselves and didn't get overwhelmed. When Harry's grades began to drop he should have been pulled from Quiddich. No game is more important than education.
This is the reason why Severus should have told Harry the truth long ago. By telling Harry in anger, Severus has caused a breach in the trust between them. There really was no good reason to keep it from Harry so long that he was 'adopted'. Harry's hurt right now and it will take time for him to process his new knowledge, but when he does (and Severus explains everything to him) I'm sure that he will forgive his father and they will be able to begin building trust again.
