Your Dumbledore is so in character. In a way, it makes me dislike your Dumbledore because he is so much like he is in the books, and I didn't like how uninvolved he was with Harry. It frustrated me. So I guess that's a compliment for you. I really liked how Harry took care of little Severus, and how when Severus tried to run off, he put him back on the bed. I especially liked how Harry explained what happened to Poppy. It was so in character, but more than that, like the character was alive. Nicely done. I am enjoying your Harry a lot. Good back story for Severus. It was sad, but also fitting with canon. I liked how Dumbledore explained things to Harry. At first, when Dumbledore asked Harry for a favor I worried that it would be to take care of Snape for good, but he didn't and that seemed right. More in character. I have a feeling that Harry will end up with Severus though. I can't wait to see how that will come about, and what their relationship will be. Maybe Severus will find a friend in Harry. Ohhh... Severus hasn't met Lily yet in his current age. I bet that Harry becomes his new best friend over time. Maybe that can help help heal him long term and help him get over Lily. I wonder if the potion mixed with the spell is what deaged Severus. I bet it was. I hope that nothing will develop, like Severus dying once he grows up to the exact age he was before as an effect of the spell. That would be tragic. Glad you liked the poem. ^_^ And yeah, I didn't much like Dumbledore in the book much either, but I wanted to stay more true to that than I did in some of my other stories where I either made him really kinda stupid (in a smart way) or bad. He's just old and a bit cranky at the moment. And I'm thrilled you like Harry in this. I'm basing a lot of what he does or says off of things that I might do myself, so if it gets too out of character, please let me know. I mean, I would've done what Harry had if I saw this little kid trying to run away and all while he was hurt. Always thought Severus would have a tragic backstory. He just seemed the type to me. And he hasn't met Lily, but he and Harry will be seeing a lot of each other. Dumbledore will be asking a lot of Harry in this story I think. He's old and in charge of so many things he's going to have trouble taking care of a little kid too. But he should take care of Sev since it IS his responsibility and all. But you'll find out what happened with the spell and the potion and all later on. I can say that I have NO plans for killing off Snape when he gets back to thirty-five, but that's all I'll say....that is a sad idea, isn't it? I'm glad to hear it's going to a darker story. I love darker stuff, if you haven't figured that out. lol. Oh, and I have one other little note of caution. Since the basic storyline is similar to "Tug," be careful in your scene ideas so that this story doesn't become similar to that one. Overall, I'm intrigued to see where you're going to take this and how you'll handle it. Sev's background is so sad and hopefully this will give him a chance to become a less jaded adult. PS: I really need to replay to your e-mail, but I admit I can be horrible when it's just replying. If you have a chapter ready you can send it whenever. Author's Response: Harry's going to be a bit awkward, yeah. I'm the youngest and I only really have small cousins, but I'm so terrible with small children! :S They make me so nervous, so much of what Harry tries to do will actually be based a bit on what I'd try to do. Small kids just sorta freak me out a bit. But yeah, he's going to try it for the headmaster. And yep, I know I just got done with "Tug" but this isn't going to be like that. If all goes well the motives and characters are going to be a bit darker than some of my other stories. And since Severus is older than Harry was in "Tug" he's going to have more of a personality which is already a bit morbid for a six-year-old, because that's kinda how I think Severus would have been as a kid. And I just like an angsty background for Sev. I actually have a fic planned for Sev's childhood that I can't post on this site, but I've outlined it a bit. Maybe some day I'll write it too. But I wanted a tragic (way tragic) history because it will help you understand why little Sev says some things later on. And that's okay about the email. I actually need to finish up on that chappie, but with two history classes and now the dreaded math course, I got a bit busy. I should have it maybe Thursday or so. I'll title the email better this time too! ^_^ Oh! Good luck on your first day of classes tomorrow!
Harry is not going to be given total care of him, is he? He's a kid himself. Just enough so that they can bond, right? Can't wait to see more of young Sev. Nice start Ivy. And no, Harry's not going to be given total care, he's going to be serving as sort of a babysitter for now. But thanks, glad you liked it!
