Actually, Severus is learning that beginning a parent is not fun and games, especially when the son is 11 years old. All children think that they are immortal or can't be harmed, no matter how many times they get hurt.
Author's Response: I have to confess that it was not my idea at first to make them friends, but after all they are young children, with more things in common than they thought, they can be friends. And Severus is learning to be a parent. He is worried about what he knows and about what he doesn't knows. He would like to keep Harry inside a crystal glass ball.
