Poor Harry! Like a fish totally out of water! But McGonagall is like a shining beacon of light. I think if anyone can get through to Harry eventually, it will be Minerva.
And the flying lesson-- if ONLY he could relax and let his magic HAPPEN, he could be so much happier and self-accepting, but I predict that his efforts to restrain his magic will result in some sort of disastrous magical explosion when it finally comes bursting forth.
Oh, I'm SO looking forward to the next chapter! The first potions lesson... WATCH OUT!!! (Personally, I'm getting ready to DUCK!)

This just keeps getting better and better! I reluctantly had to giggle at Harry's self-description of his "grotesque disposition"-- although sad, rather than funny, it shows quite clearly how the Dursleys have succeeded in warping Harry's self-image.
His refusal to go to Hogwarts, his horror at McGonagall's use of magic, and his pleading with the Sorting Hat to just let him get the hell out of there are fantastic! SO DIFFERENT from the usual Harry! You've done an incredible job of recreating Harry Potter as a character, while still keeping the rest of the JKR universe intact!
On to chapter 3-- What will happen NEXT?!

WOW! What a terrific opening chapter! I don't think I've ever seen anyone take this tack with the HP universe! Can't wait to see where you take the story! Way to go!

Very interesting premise! I have no idea where you are leading in this story; whether to have Harry eventually accept the magic in himself, or to continue to deny it. And, of course, Severus will have to wake up to what's really going on sooner or later!
Good job! Can't wait to read the next chapter!
