This was wonderful. I think Brighid is Ireland's version of Brit's Great Mother but I haven't researched enough. But reading about Selene in this story reminded me of a few readings I did of Brighid. Reading about Selene, at least the way you portray her (and I'd LOVE to see your references) gives me a happy calm feel, pretty please let me know where you researched? I love reading about ancient dieties.

good focus and a lovely ending to the chapter. As much as I love angst and drama and all of those "energetic" emotions and actions, the peace of this chapter was lovely.

Looking forward to your next update.

Love the chapter, enjoyed every bit of it and good to see Severus in a proper house too. Great imagery at the very end, I though I could almost see it which is brilliant.

Oh, btw, Apep (Aapep) not Apophis (and not Apophos as up there) considering Apep was the Egyptian version of the name, while Apophis is the Greek version. Set on the other hand, started off as a different deity, the protector of Ra who fought Apep as Ra journeyed across the underworld. Only later did Set due to some political issues, first unification of Egypt, then later on more importantly the Persian invasion, get the extreme negative aspects though again, not in all of Egypt.

Also Seléne is the Greek lunar deity, who was then supplanted by Luna the Roman version of the goddess, who was then pushed out by Diana. Hera actually doubled for her in the Endymion myth. Pedantic a bit, but I thought it would be fun to know as myths can be more complex than people think sometimes! By the way, your description of Seléne fits rather well with Hesiod's, I thought that was rather neat.

Thanks a lot for the great chapter.

What a great story. Someone to look over you and protect you, isn't that what everyone needs. Thanks for the alerts on the other stories, I love them all.

I'm glad that Harry agreed to Severus becoming his guardian. I know that they will be good for each other. I have a feeling that Harry is going to very quickly embrace Severus' beliefs, particularly now that he knows that Selene comforted him when he was younger. I wonder how long it will be before Severus tells him about his other form? I hope that it won't throw a kink into their growing relationship.

    Great chapter!
