Honestly, you ended this perfectly - as you seem to with all your other chapters.

I adore the internal conflict brewing and am in love with the development of the relationship between Severus and Harry. Looking forward to how this is (hopefully) resolved.

I do like the concept - it is cliche in a sense, but I do think that you have a lot of potential with this particular fic. My only issue was you not telling me that there was a time jump...though me not picking it up for a moment or two might just be due to my own exhaustion.

Looking forward to what's to come!

It's been a fun story and I've enjoyed the fact that you write well. (Too many fanfic stories feel like they're written my middle-schoolers who've never hear of a comma or capitalization) There's been a nice mix of emotional description, dialogue, actions, etc. I think you've got Snape down pat - I like the fact that he felt shamed over his past behavior toward Harry and had the gumption to appoligize for it. That showed some maturity on his part. The agonizing in the beginning about how to view this 'new' Harry was nicely done.

Having said that, I'm not too thrilled with how you've done Harry. He swung extremely, extremely fast from a sincere 'I hate you' to basically happily calling Snape 'Dad'. You mentioned that Snape needed to earn Harry's trust and I never saw that happening. There was no transition in Harry's interactions, no period of testing out whether Snape's change of heart was real, no distrust, and I just found that hard to swallow.

Well, you can't change it now, so I guess if I pretend the whole beginning hatred was more indifference, I can make the rest of the story work for me.

Oh, and I think the build-up of Draco's jealousy was well done. It wasn't just finding out about Harry and Snape's relationship, it was having Snape miss out on Christmas with him (a tangible reality instead of an imagined possibility) that pushed Draco over the edge. As a reader, I can sympathize with him instead of scorn him for wanting to curse Harry. It's not Harry's fault, but he's the only person Draco can really rage at about the whole thing. Poor Draco.

    Author's Response:

Thank you for the well-thought review. ^^

While perhaps Harry's change of perspective was a bit quick, I feel it was not all that unrealistic, really. Snape has worked to try to remedy his past mistakes, as well as consistly bahaved in a paternal manner. True, he has yet to do anything earth-shattering, but little things add up. Furthermore, as a boy who has never really had a family he could call his own, he really craves that. I feel that he is needy enough and young enough that he would let go of his feelings of hurt and betrayal to give his father a chance, reckless though that may seem.

But that is how I see it. What is more, the story is, as yet, incomplete.

Anyhow, I'm glad that you are otherwise enjoying the story so far and hope that it will continue to please in other aspects.

Thanks again for taking the time to let me know what you think.

    ~D

Very nice, Dream. I like the different perspectives with Minerva noticing Snape's differences with Harry now, Draco and his anger towards Harry, Harry's hesitation...In other words, I liked it all. :D Great job as always.

Author's Response: Thank you! More to come. ^^

Oooh, Draco is bitten by the green-eyed monster, isn't he? I really hope that Harry who is really good at defence, managed to counter-attack or at least put up a shield before Draco's hex hits him. If not, I would not want to be in Draco's shoes, when Snape gets a hold of him.

Sirius is entering the picture. This should get interesting. Now, a Godfather in the mix. More drama! Yipeeeee!!!!

    Author's Response:

Draco is really asking for it, alright.

More to come. ^^ Thanks for the R&R!
