This is a wonderful chapter. I love the banter between Draco and his father. I also love the incident that happened between the mouse and Harry. I feel sorry for Harry but it is rather amusing in the way you wrote it. This makes me want to own a snake even more now and I know I have to do thorough research before I purchase one (a few years away as my family will never allow me to have one however unfortunate it is but it is for the best what with my two young nephews around.) I love that Salazar talked to Harry and also informed Severus on how Harry feels. I find the moments between Severus and Harry are rather adorable. I cannot wait to read the next chapter. Cheers and ta. You're a wonderful author and writer. I am glad my twin is reading this as well.

Hahahahaha! Dad, everyone is getting a snake and I need one, too, and it has to be better than everyone else's!

These letters were so wonderfully entertaining. They made me laugh and gave me great joy to read. I really do like the relationship you are drawing between Draco and his father - so loving and spoiled, yes, but not overly so.

Author's Response: Thanks ^^. I really enjoy writing Lucius and Draco: they are very similar characters but, as Draco is so much younger, he's not quite as polished a politician as his father lol! (Draco is also more empathetic than his father and rather less ruthless.)

I'd be nervous around any but the smallest of snakes. I have heard of pythons/boas biting, though of course not with poison. And even some of the smaller ones, if in the proper position, can squeeze on the neck of it's handler. Now, this would never happen in the Slytherin House, as I'm sure Harry would go to any lengths to prevent a disaster from happening; but, if he wasn't there, it would be fairly dangerous to have all but the ones no larger then the size of a bracelet. This chapter is very well done, I liked the interaction between Draco and his parents. As well as Lucius' other letters. Yes, cleaning charms would go far in this messy world of ours. Kudos on a job well done. (I'll leave snake handling to those with the courage for it.)

    Author's Response:

Thanks for the review. To be honest, every animal bites, whether you have a rabbit, a dog, a horse, they'll always be that risk. I've been bitten by Arrow and, quite truthfully, I've recieved worse wounds off my dwarf rabbit lol! (Admittedly, Arrow wasn't going for me, he was going for my dumb brother who had just darted forward and kissed him rather roughly on the nose. Not unreasonably, Arrow saw this as an attack and I flung my hand out in front of my brother's face.) Additionally, most medium-sized animals can kill humans, particularly pets like dogs and parrots.

However, I wouldn't reccommend a snake as a pet for a young child, mainly because I wouldn't trust the kids. However, as the HP universe is strongly magical and the canon Constrictor in 'Philosopher's Stone' is shown to be intelligent, I'm going to have parselmouth-trained snakes as being considered by the magical community as reasonably safe pets for 11 year olds. (It's necessary for the plot lol)

Loved the letters. Looking forward to seeing Harry and Sev at the Malfoys at christmas. OK, please have sev say no to dracos snake. And your right, Lucius spoils Draco, please post soon!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Lucius and Draco are two of my favourite characters to write; they love each other dearly but they're not above a little manipulation lol!

I should be asleep as it is 1 a.m. where I live but I just got back from an S.C.A. event and found your update when I went to check my email. So of course I had to read it. I am literally howling with laughter over this chapter's correspondence. I especially liked Draco's writing his Mum when Dad said "no". Typical of a kid, as were his justifications for getting a cobra. What Blaise did was truly devastatingly Slytherin and I can just imagine the stuff that was going on "behind the scenes" of these letters, both at Hogwarts and at the Malfoy residence. It's a good thing that both Lucius and Narcissa's hair is so fair as their darling son is likely to turn them prematurely grey with demandsfor things like one of the most venomous snakesin the world.

Arrow sounds like a lovely snake. I wish I could meet him (and you!) in person.

    Again, bravi, bravi, bravissimi!

Author's Response: Thanks: yes, that's the best thing about letters- they give you a better insight into the characters private-lives as well as a better knowledge of their personality. I think Draco is definately going to send his parents a few shades lighter before the end of this fic lol!

Haha, I loved how Lucius said he and Dracos' mom had grown fond of him over the years! I also really liked how Blaise would tell Draco to get a Black Mamba, and with some of his following Harry's example I think it might give Harry some more confidence, that his friends want to do or have what he is doing, or has. Great update! I cant wait to see how Christmas could play out:)

Author's Response: Christmas should be fun, lol! However, I have lots planned before this term ends ;)
