*sniff* that was great. The scenes with Harry and Severus bonding are wonderful. I have a horrible time writing anything similar - and they are never exactly the way I want.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I also find it difficult to write bonding scenes; I'm so tempted to develop the characters' relationship too quickly. (I don't think any writer looks at their work and thinks 'that's perfect', btw; if I don't submit a chapter, I tend to just revise it constantly because I feel that I can never get it perfect lol)

Author's Response: Fraid so: I tend to write a fair amout of grit but, on the other hand, I mix in quite a bit of fluffy stuff too. I like my work to be the night sky; quite dark but with a number of stars.

Author's Response: I know: I did actually intend to update about midday yesterday (31/3/10) but my internet connection was down due to what seems to have been a national fault from early morning yesterday to late evening today. Sorry for the delay and thanks for the review.

Very touching an exciting chapter. Excellent description of the bludger incident as well as the injury,sustained. Harry calling Severus, Dad, in his altered state of pain was a nice touch as were Severus' tears. I am looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Thanks: I felt I needed to get Harry and Severus together and, as Quirrelmort was most likely itching to try something nasty, a hexted bludger seemed the way to go. I thought it necessary to give Harry a serious injury which couldn't be made better at the touch of a wand; it'd have the combined benefit of giving Severus an extra shove and showing any young deatheaters-in-waiting exactly what maiming someone entails.

ouch. poor harry. is he going to freak when he realizes what he was calling snape? good chapter. i don't mind short as much when i know there will probably be another one tomorrow.
Author's Response: Sorry: I did intend to release the next chapter early but, what with having no internet access for the last 40 hours due to a major connection failure, I've only just been able to update.
Gods...poor Harry. That must have been agonizingly painful. At least Marcus was able to protect Harry's head and chest from the bludger, if it had it in either of those places it could have easily killed him. It's also good that Severus has enough healing knowledge to be able to mend Harry's leg at least part of the way and the long legs and stamina to get him to the infirmary fast. It's sad that Harry's wonderful time had to be destroyed so visciously. I hope that they will remember to check that bludger for hexes and do whatever it takes to catch the person that attacked an innocent young child.
I have a feeling that after this Severus will see that he has already decided to keep Harry. He IS Harry's dad and I hope that he will fight to make it official.
