I wondered if Hedwig and Xiao would end up as mates. It will be fun to find out what the owlets look like. Harry must have been happy that Severus was allowed to take a break from his classes to take care of him.

I know it's not really relevant to this chapter in particular, but I'm re-reading, I forgot to review first time round, and I have to stop reading for now ( :( ), so I really have to say that I absolutely love your characterisation of Lucius in this fic- possibly my favourite aspect of the whole story for some reason. I mean, I love every bit of it, and I think the way you progressed the relationships between the characters (particularly Snape/Harry obviously) is fabulous, but Lucius is just how I want him to be; acting superior but in such a way as you can see why because he just so obviously is! And diplomatic with that dangerous edge that Snape has as well, which seems just so quintessentially Slytherin, but an absolute softy when it comes down to Draco and anyone he loves. This is getting ridiculously long, but I dislike fics which make him unloving and cruel and unlovable so much; he should be smart and ambitious and ultimately about family imo, not this just absolutely sadistic madman like Voldie.

Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm really glad you've enjoyed this story and I'm happy that you like my portrayal of Lucius, he's one of my favourite characters to write, along with Draco, because there's such a delicious contrast between the astute, dangerous politician (his public persona) and the indulgent, loving, protective father (private persona). In the canon, we see glimpses of both personas but, because Harry is an antagonist, those glimpses are all we get, which is a shame. To me, Lucius and Draco are daddy leopard and baby leopard; Lucius, all regal demeanor, power and grace, with little Draco bouncing along at his heels, trying to look equally cool and sophisticated as he trips over his own paws!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Yes, so do I; Dorothy Edwards is a wonderful writer and her stories, although written for children, are sweet and amusing enough to entertain the adults who read them aloud to their kids :)

I'm glad that Harry's leg is almost back to the way it was and that he enjoyed his hospital stay. I can see his reasons, though, particularly after the treatment his aunt afforded him. Of course, having the full attention of the adult that you want as your parent more than anything probably strengthened that feeling.
