Reviews For When the Boat Comes In
Author's Response: Thanks :)
Mila Author's Response: Of all the Slyths, Harry is the most inclined to forgive Ron because, having been rejected himself, he will be able to empathise with the jealous, angry boy. Ron doesn't exactly deserve it but Harry forgave him plenty of times in the canon when he didn't deserve it lol.
Author's Response: Yes, I think Molly is going to have a long, loooong chat with her son and point out to him that Harry has done nothing wrong and, if Ron wanted Harry to be his friend, insulting him and picking on those close to him wasn't the best idea. Whether Ron will listen or not is another thing entirely. Thanks for the review
Author's Response: I don't think Molly is encouraging Ron to accept the offer, she is merely annoyed at his bad-manners and unfairness to Harry (remember, Fred and George like the first-year Slyths and would have defended Harry if Ron spoke about him in a disparaging manner at home.) However, Ron is still Ron; the canon character would not hurt an owlet and my portrayal of Ron is, hopefully, rather akin to the resentful, snide Ron we see in Goblet of Fire, rather than a different character entirely.
Great chapter! Author's Response: Thanks ^^; I think that Fred and George are going to be keeping an eye on Ron but, I hope, my Ron isn't very different to the canon Ron, we're just seeing his worst side: I don't think he'd hurt the little owl, especially with his/her mother, father and siblings around! If being attacked by songbirds hurt, being attacked by a family of owls would be somewhat more painful.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review; I know Ron is a git but, in the canon, he was often a git and Harry forgave him. Whether Ron will forgive Harry for being a Slytherin is another thing entirely.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Hope you enjoy the next chapters ^^ Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Hope you enjoy the next chapters ^^
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I've always seen Harry as a very open-hearted character, for example, he doesn't dislike his relatives in the canon, despite their foul behavour. I cannot tell you whether the owlet will be the means of Harry and Ron burying the hatchet- you'll have to guess lol ;)
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Hope you're enjoying the fic
Author's Response: Yes, Ron does rather need to be taken in hand, doesn't he lol! Thanks for the review |
