Reviews For When the Boat Comes In
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I really enjoyed wri ting that conversation; I drew upon an observation by JK Rowling that Dumbledore did not know about the room of requirement. In the canon, Dumbledore is often almost omniscient and I thought it would be fun to depict him as being not 'in the know' for once.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm really glad you liked the chapter; rather fraught after a period of calm but that's how life goes ^^. Severus is going to be feeling somewhat overwhelmed for a while, as is Harry. As the sister of an incredibly accident prone brother, I've learnt Poppy's principles by heart: get on with patching him up, then ask what he thought he was doing lol!
Great chapter! Author's Response: Thanks for the review; In the canon, Harry *almost* dies of basilisk venom- and *almost* is the operative word: Fawkes' tears vanquish the posion, so both Harry and the Horcrux survive. However, here, Harry is totally immune to the poison but the horcrux is not, meaning that no antidote is given and the horcrux dies completely.
Looking forward to more! Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed it. This subplot's going to have a few more developments, so I hope you'll like them too ^^
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm so glad you're enjoying this fic- it's been rather experimental lol! I'm glad you like my portrayal of the basilisk ^^
Author's Response: Thanks for the review; I'm sure he'll pop up once or twice more ;)
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ It's one of those twists which are only obvious in hindsight lol: the sort where, once you've thought of/read them, you think 'why didn't I consider that before' :) The idea came to me out of the blue around a month ago, when I was considering a binding ceremony. Severus speaks Parseltongue, by the way, because the basilisk did the equivalent of downloading a 'Parseltongue to English' dictionary into his mind lol!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review: basilisk venom is useful stuff, huh?
Author's Response: Thanks for the review ^^ In the canon, Albus suspected there was more than one because the diary was intended to be a weapon, which was rather reckless of LV if he only had one. However, this time, there is one horcrux and Albus probably wishes to believe that Voldemort intended to make his one and only horcrux with Harry's death. It might be up to Severus |
