I very much agree with your depictions of the Slytherin Crew. To be honest, I always found JK's depiction of all her villains, both the "soft" villains inside Hogwarts and the "hard" villains outside the school, to be very flat. You've done well giving them depth, while retaining the aspects which were hinted at in canon.

This story is excellent in all ways; conspicuously well crafted, original and well thought out. The characters are in character, with the motives for their "selves" laid bare. Really well done! I must also agree with your notes; favoring one child over another, even without neglect, can lead to serious problems. An original and pleasing revenge for Severus!
