Reviews For Inverted
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Yup, things are going to get pretty fiery lol!
Author's Response: Thanks ^^. I've got the next chapter worked out, all I need is time to write it!
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm glad you like it. I think this change will rather substantially alter future events but I can't say more without giving away too much!
Author's Response: Thanks ^^. James Snape is, in fact, doing exactly what Voldemort told him to do; he has taken a position at Hogwarts and is ingratiating himself with Dumbledore. The fun thing about this plot is that we'll have Harry/Snape interaction at school and Harry/Severus interaction at home; it's just that his teacher is James Snape and his father is Severus Potter lol!
Author's Response: Thanks ^^. I've just uploaded a chapter, which I hope you'll enjoy.
Author's Response: Thanks, I hope you continue to enjoy it
Author's Response: Thank you. I thought it'd be really interesting to develop the character's personalities from the very beginning. I've tried to keep true traits constant whilst evolving 'learnt' behaviour, thus Severus is still rather arrogant and hot-tempered, but, having lived with a loving family, he is much more secure and, thus, has remained more like the eleven year old Severus we see in DH. I've just done the same for Dudley in this last chapter so I hope people think it works out.
Lily and Petunia were sisters until magic separated them. Part of this was Petunia's fault. But if something came between me and my sister which meant I wouldn't see her for 9 months out of the year and would make it so that I would not have a strong part in her life, I would hate it too. Yes, she was jealous but I think, also, saddened. If we look at the pictures of Petunia and Lily, then it looks like Lily was the pretty one and Petunia the responsible one. Parents do not treat their children alike and I am betting anything that Lily was the favoured one. Then, Harry is dropped off like a litter of unwanted kittens - in November, at a longitude (I think) of New York city with just a note. That note told Petunia that her baby sister had been murdered by an evil wizard whose followers were still after Harry and Harry, whom the evil followers are after is going to live with her and her child. She must have been terrified. Murdered sister, evils guys coming, her child being exposed to the very thing that separated and then murdered her sister. Petunia said that when Lily came home from school she was all full of the tricks that were taught to them. She must have feared that Harry would play tricks on Dudley and Dudley could not protect himself. I am not excusing the Dursleys, but I am saying that Lily and Severus will have an easier time raising and caring for Dudley since they don't have all of the baggage that Petunia did. No evil wizards are after him, he can't influence or accidently harm her son, they know and love magic. If Dudley has a better life than Harry did, then I think it comes down to more than "lily is good and Petunia is bad." Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Of course, nothing is ever black and white; it is possible to highly sympathise with Petunia for all the reasons you've mentioned and, moreover, Petunia did not have a high-minded, intelligent, empathetic husband (like Severus), she had Vernon- a narrow-minded, petty bully. While a man like Severus would appeal to his Lily's better nature to sooth away irritations, a man like Vernon would support and encourage Petunia's every vexation and unkindly thought: in short, Vernon would coax Petunia out of feeling any guilt for petty or unkind actions. |
