I really liked the setting in Japan. It makes perfect sense that the DL would have traveled widely through Asia in search of magical artifacts. That scene was also a wonderful contrast to the happiness Harry expressed at the end, and overall sense of hope.

Interesting so far. I'm glad that Harry and Ron will seemingly reconnect with each other :) Interesting to see what Voldemort is up to having a strategist in Japan. I've been to the Imperial Palace at Kyoto which is shinden-esque. Though I did wonder if Voldemort would appreciate the simplicity of Japanese luxury. Like how rippled the surface of the cross-beam is! btw, the romaji for 酒z88;(さけ)z88;is sake.

    Author's Response:

You lost me on the romaji thing Orpheneritus. I'll have to google that.

Influences from the orient pop up throughout the trilogy but the main influx will be in the last book: What Matters Most. (But I think I am only going to do a Sevitus version for only this first fic).

I am pleased you are enjoying the story and thanks so much for sharing. Hugs, SHaria

Oh, I'm so glad that the counseling is helping Harry and he's beginning to feel better. Helena Swanson seems like a very good therapist. And the Weasleys' unconditional love and support is just what Harry needs.

Author's Response: I based the character of Helena upon someone I know: the way she looks, her elegance and even her name. I knew that Harry's counselor needed to be a very special person and so I immediately thought of - Helen. And yes, I love the Weasley's and I'm so glad they are there to provide the sense of family that Harry needs and deserves. Thank you so much for you review, Kristeh. Hugs, SHaria

Yay! Harry's taken the first steps towards recovery. I just hope he won't encounter a setback once he gets to Hogwarts though it would be totally believable if he did.

I'd love it if you included more details about the counseling sessions. I know it says he had them for two weeks, but it seems so quick when the last chapter brought up the counseling and now they're already starting to work in this chapter. Although, I can understand as it may be somewhat personal for you.

I'm excited to see what happens once Harry gets to Hogwarts. You mentioned in your reply that Severus has his own journey of depression to overcome and I'm really curious to see how their commonality with depression factors into whatever kind of relationship you have in mind for them.

I also liked the Voldemort in Japan bit. It was cool to see him abroad somewhere and doing something other than torturing people or ordering Death Eaters around.

I can't wait to read more. Great job!

    Author's Response:

Hi EllaEleniel, thank you for the lovely long review.

Yes well, one chapter for the counceling. Perhaps it seemed short, but what Harry had to do was just talk, relay, verbalize all those things that caused him emotional injury. They all add up and they all need to be addressed, but we've read his history: the childhood abuse and the trauma he encountered after arriving at Hogwarts. We know what happened. I didn't want to repeat all of that. He'll still have his insecurities and Helena will still be around to help him.

As for Severus, yes he had emotional turmoil in his younger life (as I said before, there had to be some reason for his bitterness). But that is just it- where as Harry fell into a depression, Severus closed himself off- emotionally (in order to protect himself). And he's been this way for a long time. It's going to take longer to work through.

I view the event of an eclipse as a symbol of Harry's depression and Severus' emotional apathy. That's how it felt for me when I was depressed, very much as I described it in chapters 2 and 4, but Harry is on his way back and Sev will get there later.

It may have seemed kind of quick, but this story is already 33 chapters long and I haven't finished yet. Don't worry, there's plenty coming. Hugs, SHaria

I love happy endings and quick updates and you've provided both in this chapter. Very nicely done!

Author's Response: Thanks Kim, I agree. RL is hard enough, so I am a firm believer in happy endings. I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter.  SHaria
