Reviews For Eclipse of the Soul, the Sevitus version
I'm doubly glad that the boys that attacked Harry and threatened Hermione have been given over to the proper authorities. I really hope that they will enjoy their stint in Azkaban. Author's Response: Thank you for your nice long review silverstargirl! Again (I keep repeating myself and here I go again), Severus is one smart cookie. AND he has the sensitivity and ability to carry off being a double agent so in my book- of course he notices subtle things and therefore would have been aware that something was wrong with Harry. As for Harry, his crisis did not occur until he was walking up to the infirmary (that's when the rib punctured his pleura and caused the pneumothorax.) I actually have 33 chapters written in the snarry version of this story and no- he won't be in this position again (I'm not saying things don't happen, but he won't withold medical attention to himself again). AND yes, Crab and Goyle. I did go back and forth with regards to Ministry dicipline or school dicipline, but when you come down to it- there really wasn't a choice. Thanks again! Hugs, SHaria
Author's Response: Yes, Snape's visit to the Dursley's was a HUGE wakeup call. He is too smart (in my opinion) to be so narrow minded, so now ... he's not. Yay! (But he does still have his acirbic, snarky side we all know and love. Thanks for the reviews! Cheers, SHaria
Author's Response: Thanks for the review missny1. I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. Hugs, SHaria
Poor harry. I hope that Snape can protect and take care of Harry, where everyone else has failed. Great story, I can't wait for more. Author's Response: I'm glad you found this story and are enjoying it Pandora. I don't know if I agree that everyone else has failed. All those that love Harry have helped him in their own special way: Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Weasley, Ron, Ginny, Hermione, Poppy, Dumbledore and Helena. Did I forget anyone? I don't know if Severus actually loves Harry just yet; he has started seeing Harry as a person in his own right, so that is very good. Even so, everyone deserves to have their own opinion. I honor and respect yours and thank you for sharing it with me. Hugs, SHaria
Author's Response: No worries! Yes, Severus has turned a new leaf (Yay!). Here again is another area that was always rubbed me the wrong way. Severus. A person so intelligent, complicated, deft and with obvious character would certainly have more depth then what we experienced in canon. (But I will acclaim to the highest hills until the end of time as to the unbounded genius of JK Rowlings!!!!). We'll see more of Severus in the upcoming chapters. Thanks again for your review, SHaria
I'm glad that Severus is so observant of his Slytherins and of Harry. I hope he'll realize that something is wrong. I can understand Harry's reluctance to go to Madame Pomfrey, but he really does need to. It's hard for Ron and Hermione to be so concerned but not be able to persuade their friend to look after himself as he should. I'm wondering if Harry's reluctance stems from a desire to punish himself for Sirius' death, low self-esteem from years of abuse, or simply a desire to have a fuss...probably a combination? Looking forward to the next chapter and more on the new professor too. Author's Response: I love reading your perceptions as to why Harry responded to the beating the way he did. Of course any of your suggestions could be valid; my own personal take was that Harry was acting like Harry- a Gryffindor who always puts the needs of others before his own. And yes- Channon. He's cool. You'll get to know him in the next chapter. Hugs, SHaria
Author's Response: I based the character of Helena upon someone I know: the way she looks, her elegance and even her name. I knew that Harry's counselor needed to be a very special person and so I immediately thought of - Helen. And yes, I love the Weasley's and I'm so glad they are there to provide the sense of family that Harry needs and deserves. Thank you so much for you review, Kristeh. Hugs, SHaria
Great job and very well-written! Author's Response: Thank you so much Kristeh for sharing your impressions. I love the vulnerability of this chapter, both Harry's and the Weasley's. Because of what Harry is going through, everyone around him who loves and cares about him winds up being - exposed. Yes? Hugs, SHaria
Author's Response: Thank you Kim. As I said to someone else, I always thought that Harry should have qualified for getting a little extra training to help him prepare for the task ahead. This is my attempt at rectifying things, and no, I didn't want a bunch of dangers lurking around the castle for him. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and thank you so much for the review. SHaria.
Author's Response: Thank you frodolove12, I'm glad you liked it. I always thought Harry should have received extra training, considering the huge task awaiting him. This is my attempt to address that issue. I'll have ch 8 up at the beginning of next week. Hugs, SHaria |
